Love reclists and multilingual UTAU, but can't figure out how to write the dang thing? Luckily the universe has a fantastic thing called X-SAMPA, a typeable (and UTAU-useable!) phonetic system that corresponds perfectly with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). It's also the system generally used in Vocaloid phonetics.

Here's a group where all us X-Sampa fans can gather and share work.

The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is the standard used for transcribing all languages phonetically.

SAMPA was created to be typeable with basic ASCII characters, and was language specific.
It was eventually consolidated into X-SAMPA, which corresponds to IPA.

UTAU, being singthesis, has to work on the phonetic level. Since it's non-unicode, IPA can't be used. But X-SAMPA can.

So, this is a group for people who like using X-SAMPA for reclists and voicebanks, and support it over user-invented and language-specific phonetic systems.

The bottom of the wiki article has charts.

I'd love to see tutorials and other helpful materials so that I could try getting into it! I'll also do more research on my own when I have more time.

I would be interested in it as a side-thing if I actually understood the reclist///

Welcoming Pluvumi to the club!

X-SAMPA isn't one single reclist, it's just a phonetic system that reclists can be built off. I'm going to work on extensions for LEXYS, but some other people here might have their own X-SAMPA based reclists.

I guess I'll talk about my project with X-SAMPA. I've got 5 extensions for LEXYS now, English French Spanish German and Romanian. I'm planning Chinese, Korean, and Dutch, but I'll have to mess with aspirated vs unaspirated plosives. Which means I could have more samples in english...

Considering the chronic inactivity of forum fanclubs, would the members of this one be interested in also having a skype groupchat for X-SAMPA?

I would like to be a member of this club! Also, we should add Teto CVVC/English to the x-sampa bank list, right?

Welcome!

Teto uses a version of Delta English, which is already listed. Other Delta english voicebanks are AWG and Anna Nyui, as far as I know.

Where can I find the Delta list to compare it to LEXY's list? You have it listed, but not linked. Or has it not been released other than in oto.ini form?
