why do some people put a letter in front of the japanese character?

If doing that makes the tuning better, I would love to know more about it. I use a CVC btw.
what is the term i mentioned in the title called? and how do you use it?

The lyric in each note is vowel-consonant-vowel, or VCV. This allows the syllables to blend together more smoothly, and requires specially recorded and configured voicebanks. This is also referred to as 連続音, if you're downloading voicebanks from Japanese websites.

oops yes i mean VCV haha. yes the picture is what i meant. but since I am already using a VCV, that will not make a difference im guessing
