first time "oto-ing" and help is needed

So, now I'm at the point where I need to make the oto.ini for my VB, but I don't really know how I should set up the parameters. I can move the red and green vertical lines in the editor, but that's just about it. How do I change the test of the parameters? And what's the red curvy line that's going across the waveform? Also, is there a way to preview the looping part of the sample in the editor?

another possibility is that someone does the oto.ini for me, but I don't know if anyone wants to do that, so...

Hey! I actually have services for newbies here and I can help you with OTOing. (There's also some more advanced voicebank fixup stuff if ya like!)

As for parameters, here's a little glossary.

Offset: First blue highlight. Appears after dragging out preutt, overlap, and consonant. Determines where in the sample to start, and is useful for cutting out inital silence.
Consonant: Pink highlight. Appears after dragging out preutt and overlap. Determines the area not to be modified when changing note length
Cutoff: Blue highlight at the right end. Determines where in the sample to end, and is useful for cutting out fade-out and ending silence.
Preuttterance: Red line, determines the position of note-on.
Overlap: Green line, determines the area to crossfade into the previous note

The orange line is the frequency map, which is saved in the FRQ file. Sometimes there's sudden spikes, which cause a sort of hiccup when rendering. There's a post somewhere about fixing it but alternatively you could use a resampler that doesnt need FRQs.

You can preview the area between Offset and Cutoff (anything not highlighted blue) with the P button. You'll have to test the vowel region (white area) manually in UTAU, but SetParam does have some extra features like preview between various parameters, timing check, and synthesis check.
