problems importing USTs into Cadencii

So lately i've been trying to use v.connect stand al an alternative to UTAU, mainly because, when used right, sounds really realistic.
I've been using Namine Ritsu's v.connect bank, and Asane Sana's voicebank (which I converted)
When I just manually create a melody and enter in lyrics, it plays perfectly. But when I try to open up a UST, it either doesn't even open, or completely ignores the oto when I play it. I've tried exporting some USTs as midis or vsqs, but that doesn't work either (the midis won't open, and the vsqs turn all of the lyrics into '?'s)
Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

I'd like some help with Cadencii, as well. There don't seem to be many resources for it.
