It's been a long time since I've bothered to do any or talk anything about UTAU. For anyone that does remember me I created Suika Irie, and was the most active during 2011-2012. I was called Angel back then, but since I've changed to being called Melty nearly two whole years now.
I started to fall out of love of the community the more it grew and grew and it felt too alien to me. I wasn't getting the same excitement I used to get when I would create voicebanks and updates and so forth. I left a lot of people that I liked to pursue other things in art and animation. I'm enjoying myself there, but sometime I like to check on how everyone was doing. It's a bittersweet feeling, I guess.
Anyhow, a couple of days ago the CEO of Crypton Future Media came to London to do a talk about Miku. Alike UTAU I kind of grew out of Vocaloid, but since I liked Miku since 2008 I went anyways. It was really interesting to say the least, and through it I remembered just how impressive voice synthesizers really are.
He mentioned UTAU briefly in a discussion with another lady as well.
Although I know that I cannot return to what UTAU used to be for me, I still feel that somewhere the whole process of creating an UTAU and using the program is still enjoyable. There are things in my life now that I prioritize a lot more, however I believe in giving things a shot and thus that is why I'm here.
Just a heads up, I'm discontinuing the UTAUs I used to make. Most of the files I used for them have long been deleted to clear space and I don't think I have the heart to Frankenstein them back to life.
Probably the UTAU that I wish to make would share a similar, even an exact voice to Suika but I do not have the voice capabilities to create multiple voices, (something I wish I had, lol.)
The other reason why I'm not continuing with them is that since I made them I've grown a lot, in skills, character and so on. Leaving the UTAU community meant that I had to put my efforts in a lot of other things and since then I've improved in just about everything that I'm capable of. I want to use these skills and produce an UTAU that I'm satisfied with. I want to produce a really good release video I guess.
If anyone still remembers me, that's great remember I loved you 5ever, and it isn't your fault I decided to leave. If you don't pretend it's my first time coming here, lol. I made this account a while ago and won't be using it and will be switching to another account with the name "melty" since "wafumofu" isn't my style, lol. I won't be massively active here and if you wish to talk to me, then contacting me through Skype or DeviantArt would be your best bet. And if you're interested in what I've been doing since I left then there's my YouTube channel titled "meltychan01". (This isn't a plug I swear.)
