You mean Spike from Friendship is Magic. One of my personal pet peeves is when people say "MLP", they only refer to FiM and exclude the older generations, which I personally prefer over FiM due to longtime strifes with the community. Weseluck also voices Near from Death Note, which I'm not familiar with by the way, and she does a good job voicing him too.
OH I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS A PET PEEVE OF YOURS I'M SO SORRY!
It's just that, since Friendship is Magic is the most popular of them all, it's more common to see MLP referring specifically to it.
It's fine. Friendship is Magic is only considered popular because it's the one the majority praises. If one grew up with that generation, then that's a different story. The older generations only get nothing but hate from current MLP fans for being too girly and saccharine (BtVA ruined that word for me); Gen. 3 gets the worst cases of hate and that happens to be my personal favorite generation.
Agreed. The original Rainbow Dash was heavily criticized for being stereotypically girly and a fashionista, but ironically in every single book and movie she's been in, she's never been portrayed as a fashion freak and always as a big sister figure. Minty was my sister's favorite My Little Pony. She's the only Gen. 3 pony that FiM fans actually like but only because of her clumsiness.
Same here! Plus, the original Pinkie Pie had the cutest laugh and she's best friends with Minty! That reminds me, one of my favorite MLP scenes was when Minty pretended to be Santa and Pinkie Pie asked why, Minty answered "Broken" and then Pinkie confusedly replied "You broke Santa?". It was a small but really adorable moment.
That's from "A Very Minty Christmas" I believe. I have a tradition of watching that every year at Christmas.
Who remembers the old breezies? The main ones were Tiddlywink, Tra-la-la, and Zipsy, I believe. And Zipsy was allergic to flowers, so she'd sneeze all the time.
