but like, not really. I could pick up the entirety of japanese and still not be able to make a song. Also, I know some textbook japanese, like, "男の子は走っています" or some shit like that
Nice! I still recommend learning from textbooks, but I think you should test yourself and review the knowledge you accumulate often, and possibly watch Japanese media with English subtitles to learn casual phrases, nouns, and grammar you don't already know from Japanese learning resources such as textbooks, which could probably make your Japanese more natural.
I used rosetta stone and duolingo. but using their japanese would make me sound robotic and too formal.
i know a lot of words, but not a lot of actual stuff.
like っぽいな. Means "-ish", right?
so, "幸せ"っぽいな means "happiness"-ish.
ありがとう、お兄ちゃん (I don't know why i used onii chan but just go with it pleaseee)
(don't kill me)
maybe I will! I hope i learn more. Maybe you could make an UtaForum group (or conversation) where we discuss what we know about Japanese and help eachother learn. And it'd be free for anyone to join.
I'm not currently learning Japanese, however I'll make a group for it, considering plenty of people in the UTAU community want to learn Japanese to better understand the language and culture that a majority of vocal synth songs and voicebanks are made, written in, or based off of.
Interjecting here but Renshu + the Genki textbook + watching Japanese VTubers and looking up any words you don't know really worked for me, and it's all free!
Genki especially helped me a lot
