100BPM or 120BPM?

I'm not sure anymore that which tempo is better to record VCV... ^v^;

I know so far that 100BPM recorded VB has longer overlap than 120BPM, so it sounds usually bit smoother and that 120BPM is way faster to record than 100BPM.

I'm wondering that will 100BPM be fine in very fast parts of songs etc because it has more overlap.

What do you think, which is better in general?

It doesn't really matter. Consonant velocity can help solve the issue in fast parts of songs (which frankly, VCV doesn't handle that well to start with); as long as you're clear and careful about your consonants, either BPM should serve you fine as your samples should still maintain a reasonable length either way.

Considering that it's japanese, either should be fine. (However, if you're recording a language that has more complex phonemes (such as consonant clusters) then recording at a fast speed may not result in a singing tone.)

It doesn't quite matter especially for Japanese VCV. You'll be fine with either, just record with whichever sounds more natural to you and whichever you feel more comfortable keeping up with. If you sound like you're struggling to keep up to the beat I'm sure your bank isn't going to sound as good as if you're recording at a comfortable steady beat that flows more naturally for you.
