Can UTAU-Synth run on PPC/G3?

Do you mean for other users when they download your voicebank or something?

If so I wouldn't bother. It's common courtesy to only have .wav and .frq files in your voicebank. FRQs cover most resamplers, and including more types just weighs the voicebank down. I remember once I shaved 80MB off a multipitch voicebank because it insisted on having all those .frt, .pmk, .star, .platinum, etc files that just annoyingly took up space.

And UTAU-Synth is a minority. I'd first even test if your bank works or even sounds good with it because it can be picky and crash around some banks.

It's pretty bad. There are people who only use UTAU-Synth & I don't know how they do it but it has so many issues & it crashes & it's just too much work to deal with. It also doesn't help if you're used to PC!UTAU. Reasons why I have Windows 8 on my Mac: just to run PC!UTAU.

If you still wanna try, I think you're better off with an emulated hard drive, since 256MB of RAM is p bad & UTAU-Synth will cause issues because it hates everything. It can run on PPC, however.

I'd include all .frqs with a bank. I've never seen one that didn't, it'd be weird to download a bank where you have to generate everything for just the basic resampler.

Yeah, I'm considering installing Windows too just so I can use UTAU properly again and Paint Tool Sai. photoshop got nothing on paint tool sai sob i miss you~ I don't know how though and if I have to install antivirus ASAP or something though so I haven't gotten around to it yet. :'D

UTAU-Synth is buggy beyond belief, is barely compatable with UTAU-PC so any UTAUs and USTs created with it will have problems, you can't use ANY plugins or resamplers, loads of voicebanks just flat out don't work, you can't fix frq's generated in it, it just crashes whenever it wants to and doesn't let you recover your work… Seriously, only use it if you absolutely have to like I do for now. It is usable, but it is 1000x inferior to the PC version.

I don't think it's because it's "new" since it's a bit old now at two or three years, I think it's the fact of people used to programming on PC trying to convert their program to MAC and then the fact that it never updated and was far outstripped by the PC version. Program conversion is always rough and the MAC version just is never right in comparisson. *laments about vba's more frustraing features but no one cares about vba*
