So I think I might have posted something about this before, but that was deleted in the recent board corruption.

So I figured I'd post again, just for the heck of it.

I chose V3, mainly because all of my favorite voicebanks are V3 banks. (Well one of them is a V2 that got a V3 update but anyway) And there's the job plugin that allows UTAU-like pitch editing.

RE:

Well, I love threm all and I can't choose

Here why :

VOCALOID = The origin (so nostalgia) + most unique voices ever <3 And they're amongst my biggest favourite Vocaloids ever (Especially Léon, KAITO and MEIKO)

VOCALOID2 = I kinda "grown up" faster with these as I discovered it before discovering the V1 + some unique voices as well + TONIO. And Lily. Best reasons.

VOCALOID3 = smoothness, languages and Galaco bby <3 Without mentioning the first Vocaloids I4ve used were V3 (Galaco!Prize + MAIKA Trial)

So yeah, it's kinda like when I'm asked about UTAU VS VOCALOID I love all because the'yre complementary and each has something the other doesn't and vice-versa and it's just great <3

[Like, without the V1, no VOCALOID at all or not any generation after it and of course, being the first version it has some flaws. VOCALOID3 is HQ and opened the gate to more languages andsuch, yet some of the voices seems to have hard time to be energetic and peaky/clear... Not that it's not the case for the other verisons of the engine, but I think it was more noticeable (after we jsut have to find a great tuner and this problem gets away) and then VOCALOID2 got most of my favourite Vocaloids but at the same time well... ]

Yess.

That pitch plugin makes it even better.

I dunno, The only V1 I fully like is MIRIAM. I like LEON and LOLA, I could just never get into them. And MEIKO and KAITO's original banks were almost too punchy on each sample and it makes them sound choppy.

V2 and V3 banks are my favorite.

I love the V3 Engine, but I hate the V2 Editor. So if I ever get a V2, it's to V3-Land for them.

I vote for both V2 and V3. V2 seemed to have had more voice variety. Rather, I should say they were more easily distinguishable and unique. You could put every V2 bank in a chorus and when they have a solo, you'll be able to tell who it is without issue. V3 improved on the support for English and other languages (even if some Japanese to English banks are very hit or miss) and the males have been very fortunate for the most part (other than Kaito not sounding like his V1) to get some standout voices and not risk sounding exactly like one another. The girls - though they suffer quite a few really same-ish/generic voices with little break in between - are getting more unique with time as far as concept is concerned.

I'm gonna be biased since I only have V1. (also leon5ever)

So yeah, V1. I know it's somewhat buggy now but you can work around them.

Legit reason tho: The Resonance parameter is a godsend.

I tried V2 demos before and I hate the interface.
So it's like

V1> V3 > V2

UGH I hate V2. Toss the editor, keep the bank.

And I honestly wouldn't mind owning MIRIAM. The V1 Editor is a small bit clunky comparatively but I still really like it! also I love the icon palette for whatever reason

Anyway, I got Tonio some time ago and this just further cements my hate for the V2 Engine.
The interface is just godawful vs V1 especially editing phonemes.

Wow, imagine if I had Sonika I would probably have jumped off a cliff by now

I can't wait to afford a V3 engine just to get away from V2's horrid interface. D:

Yeah, I agree.

I used Iroha's trial for a whole day tuning and I couldn't stand the interface.

I personally prefer V3. Not for the voices themselves ((but my heart does belong to the ZOLA PROJECT)), but the Editor itself.

I prefer many of V2's voices like the Kagamines.
