Hey guys~ Ah, I'm making a video soon for my utau's release.

I just want to know if there's a better FREE video software that can help me add sort of layers and effects to a video. I'm stuck using WMM and it honestly sucks and I can't make any good videos off of it. What do you guys use? Is it any better than WMM? OTL

Um... I use Sony Vegas Pro 7 Portable version but while the program itself is not free, you can download the portable if you look it up on google or something.

There's AviUtl, but unless you're good at video software and at least knowledgeable in Japanese that probably won't be of too much help. Really powerful but not exactly... easy.

Is there a trial for it? I can probably use that...

@Halo
Is it entirely in Japanese? I can oly read hiragana and a limited amount of kanji so I don't know... How hard is it exactly?

My recommendation(s) would be:

MoviePlus Starter Edition - because it is free and has a lot of tools
!!!insall the K-light Codec pack mega pack to make more formats work!!!free/nondemohttp://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

FREE!
Jashaka - complex app...can do a lot learning curve
Videospin - the most basic, don't expect to get very far with this one...nags about upgrade
Wax - works like crap on my computer but that is because mine is falling apart...compared to sony vegas, when it works then it's like magic...

free but limited:
Lightworks - a pro program with a free version but is EXTREAMLY hard to use...
Videospin - the most basic, don't expect to get very far with this one...

THE BEST I HAVE FOUND:
kdenlive - WILL NOT! run on a windows machine, you cave to download ubuntu and dual boot to run it...has the best features and is the most versatile.

try them and see what you like!

There's also Videopad Editor.
(which the people who made this have other stuff too.)
Though every 14 days you have to do this:

Just make sure you're using it for non-commercial stuff.
