Frustrating error message...

So today I downloaded Rook and the UST for Rolling Girl, determined to finally do something on UTAU. So I open UTAU and open up the UST and everything's going good, but when I choose which VB I want to use it pops up with the error message I've attached. I don't know what it means. I also have Ritsu Kire and tried his VB and got the same error. When I open up Ritsu and Rook's respective folders there's just a very long list of nonsensical gibberish for the file names. I'm frustrated to the point of just giving up on UTAU. Someone, anyone, please help me

I used to have this problem when I was starting out in UTAU.

You need to change your computer locale / format to Japanese, because that gibberish means your computer can't support hiragana (which is what both Rook and Ritsu's voicebanks are encoded in). I don't know what kind of computer you're using, but once you've changed your locale, you should redownload both voicebanks, since their .zip / .rar file is corrupted with that gibberish.

Edit: OK, I just saw the error message now. (Responded from the "recent threads" place) I'm not quite sure what this is... If you are seeing gibberish. (and it is gibberish, not hiragana), it is most likely a locale issue. I dunno, see if it helps.

I had forgotten to mention in my post that I had indeed changed my locale to Japanese, but I had done so after downloading Rook. Would this effect anything?

Well, as Purin said, you have to redownload him. When changing locale, you have to make sure to do two things:
1) Uninstall and reinstall UTAU
2) Redownload all hiragana banks
And maybe any USTs and plugins that didn't work/were "gibberish" (techinically called mojibake).
That should solve it.

Alrighty, I'll do that (probably tomorrow, it's late! >.<) Thank you both for your help. I'll try tomorrow and report back with whether or not it's working.

Okay the error though
The error just means that you don't have the resampler specified-- there should be, under the "OK" button, two fields. One should say ツール1(wavtool), and then an input field, and the other ツール2(resample). The text in resample should be red, if you're getting this error.
In the very bottom right there should be a long button that says "ツールを初 *some other kana*", press that. It will change the red text to "resampler.exe" in black.
That should fix the pop up error.

Ooooh okay. So I did that and that's fixed. But then I got a new message upon playing the song that said "Failed to generate a wav file. Please check your settings." Now what? :V  I'm utterly clueless with all this.

Are you updated to the newest UTAU(0.4.12)?
Also, does this happen on any given UST, and if so, every UTAUloid?

Rolling Girl is the only UST I have and Rook's the only one I redownloaded with the Japanese locale. But last night I played it before I went to bed, and that error didn't come up. I didn't do anything but it played, except Rook made no noise. After that, I think that most of my issues have to do with locale. Cause when I would switch it to Japanese, I'd be doing stuff and look down and it'd be back in English. So I don't know if I'll have to re-reinstall UTAU or not. :/ Sorry for being so troublesome everyone! >.<

Just to be safe, switch your locale (keep in mind JP keyboard and JP locale are entirely different! There's almost no detectable difference in JP locale compared to EN locale except JP programs are in Japanese rather than Mojibake), and reinstall the latest UTAU.

But otherwise it should work now. Maybe grab a romaji voice bank that you like to test with just in case?
