When giving out a UST, do you usually untuned them or leave the tuning there? I'm planning to distribute a UST I've made when I'm finished with my own personal pitch-bending for my cover but what do you think is more ideal?

Well, how I do things is I give out my USTs with the tuning for the original song but never with any of my own personal tunings.

So, as I make my USTs I do pitchbends and stuff for how they would sound in the original song. I try to get it as close as possible. Then I go ahead and save that copy and that's what I give to the public. Then I go back and add my own personal pitchbends (if I want to) to a different copy of the UST and that'll be my release cover.

The way I see it is I do those personal pitchbends to make my cover special and sound nice. The moment I give them out to the public my cover stops being special cause people can just plug and play and then you get all these covers that sound exactly like mine.

Some people do give out all their special pitchbends, some give out untuned USTs, and some follow the same procedure I do. Give out the pitchbends for the original song but keep your special ones to your yourself.

It's all up to you in the end and how you feel about it.

I usually leave the tuning that I did originally. Which can be a good or bad thing, depending if you like my taste in tuning. I tune more than the necessary pitchbends, trying to add dynamic to a note, or other little tweaks I like to do. I don't have the paitence to tune twice, tbh. And if people dislike the tuning choice, it's all the more insistant on them doing their own tuning.

I can see both sides of the argument ;u ;
As for myself, i love releasing self tuned usts (palette ust why you still not released D; )

Pros:
Good promotion for ust
Spreads tuning to fandom
Individualizes Ust

Cons:
Demotes self tuning in community
Stinks if it's the only ust and someone doesn't like the extra tuning
Makes each tuned cover go from something awesome and effort sounding to "oh yeah, that ust" because everyone has the same tuning
