TWO ISSUES. @.@

I am trying to put in the Hiragana as the alias. It shows up as a question mark.
And, I recorded to sound files following a hiragana chart on wikipedia.
And... should... I put the kanji as the alias? Romaji? Or Hiragana? SOMETHING ELSE?

@.@

-sigh- I have some issues...

Hiragana will only consistently work if you're running on Japanese Locale with JP keyboard installed.

Please install JP locale. You're running Win7 so there's really no reason why you shouldn't. Don't worry, nothing will get changed except for UTAU will work better and any other JP programs will work better as well.

There's an easier way to put in aliases. Copy and paste the oto from a romaji voicebank with hiragana aliases into your UTAU's folder. Then edit the oto.inis as normal to fit your voice samples. But as the above poster said, if you don't already have JP locale, install it.

That is not necesarily the best way to solve it. The reason is that some people record additional sounds that may not appear on a regular hiragana list.

Also, other users may use katakana for foreign sounds.

If you are going for that method, you need to be using the same list as the person you are going to "steal" the oto from.
