I remember there used to be a post on here describing the method, but I can't find that thread.

Use Unarchiver to unzip the voicebank and ensure that the filenames don't get messed up. https://theunarchiver.com/
After you have the folder, rename it and add ".utau" to the end. You should be able to double click on it to open the voicebank in UTAU-Synth.
