I’m talking about the representation and treatment of minorities, not the existence of them.
Coming from the Covid-era Gacha fandom, UTAU feels like one of the most inclusive and understanding communities out there. LGBTQIA+ is handled well and not hypersexualized, racial minorities are represented, and, one of my most personal gripes about most younger fandoms, trauma and mental disorders aren’t romanticized. I always had issues with how Gacha fans tended to make self-harm seem trendy when it’s not and even made a whole cult following and romanticizing that one girl who livestreamed herself taking her own life. UTAU is really refreshing and inclusive, at least to me, but I want to hear your takes on it.
