How to make utau sound good/ realistic

So I wanna know, how some peoples can make utau sound so good.
I don't put any effect's when I finish my cover with utau, because I have only Audacity...-.-'

and it's would be nice, if you would give some good programs for mixing and add to effect , and it would be nice if it is free :3
And ...yeah..so if somebody can help me? ^^'

I'd recommend Reaper for mixing. You can use the free trial forever, although after the trial period runs out you get a guilt trip message every time you open it.

UTAU wise:

VCV always helps. Good pitch bending and vibrato can make it sound more human. Fitting in the voicebank with the UST is a must.

Mixing wise:

EQing and Reverb is a MUST. Cdra made a tutorial here. Reverb is self-experimental and not that hard to fidget around.
