Making USTS

I am currently working on how to make USTS.
It is a hard process, and I wish to master it within the next few years or so.



The song I am making a UST for is called "The Plummeting Ghost Laughed," and my progress can be tracked on my soundcloud so you can have a general idea of when it will be done. All of my UST progress will most likely go there.

Shinami's made a pretty good tutorial on making USTs. Personally, I use the same method as SkyIsland and EchoBlossom.

But doesn't echoblossom do the whole MIDI thing in FL Studio??

(I have no patience for that at ALLL, I tried at one point)

What I'm doing is using mikumikuvoice just to get it as on timing as possible then redoing it all in vocaloid. (Using the V3 editor so I can do the whole playing music with the voice singing.

But I'd love it if someone could teach me how they do it. Right now I'm pretty much useless with computers because I'm using windows XP which I have no problem with, but it's an old used computer and lags non stop soooo...

Yeah, I actually find doing the MIDI in FL to be quite simple once you get the hang of finding tempo and key. Notes tend to have friendly lengths! And you could even add extra harmonies or extra singing if you wanted to.

This afternoon (and by that, i mean 6-8pm singapore time) I could do a stream and explain it.

Errrr well I mean. I'm on eastern U.S. Time so I don't know how that would work out... But today's Friday so maybe I could try to get on my CPU?

I'll have to check the time zones and how they work for Singapore but that would be great if you had the time for that!

I think it would also be kinda helpful to know what your difficulties with USTs are. Do you have problems figuering out the notes? Is it the timing you have difficulties with? Or in the next step, do you have difficulties with the UST editing?
And what are your diffiulties with the MIDI creation with FL Studio?

I can find the pitches and I can time if I have the song, and I do it all in vocaloid because UTAU with vsq to edit is a nope.

And I had FL Studio at one point but I was so lost with it.. I also couldn't figure out how the midi editing worked. Also I had no idea how to open the MIDI editor. Plus MikuMikuVoice actually detects the tempo and is accurate.

I use mixcraft for my songs, maybe I could use that???

Yeah, you could actually just use any DAW that lets you import MP3s and make a MIDI to export.

I don't know what a DAW is though...? And it sounds easy to use

DAW means Digital Audio Workstation. Examples are FL Studio, Mixcraft, REAPER, Ableton, etc.

Oh okay thanks for telling me that. I didn't know what it meant.
But I use mixcraft to make my own songs so I could use that but I don't have patience to even do what I'm doing now

I didn't know there were multiple methods of making USTs owo;
I never do it in FL, I just do it in Vocaloid 2 while listening to the original song.
I hate making stuff in FL =_= I only use it for mixing.

i use FL studio

its actually really easy

to open the midi editor, just hit the keyboard button
