Need help with my Snowball Blue mic and more...

As the title says, I need a little help with my mic and other subjects. But first - is my mic. I bought my Snowball in Amazone with a standard deskstand (that you see on pics) and a USB cable. It's all what you need to start recording. But the problem is, I don't have a PC - instead, I have a laptop. So, when I record, there is noise in the background and my desk is small - so I have a giant ball infront of my face and that's not very... comfortable. And so, I thought io buying a suspension scissor arm stand for my desk or a normal mic stand from the ground that's adjustable. (like, those that you see on tv or studios (if they use that, I don't know but I can only imagine XD ) )

So, the next problem is - which is the right one for a Snowball Blue Mic?

THere would be no point in getting a scissor arm as the mic would still be attached to the desk, a floor stand would make more sense if you want it out of the way..
Since it is a laptop, your best bet would be to get it as far from your laptop as possible. When recording, you could have your laptop on the floor or something (or on the desk if the mic was on a floor stand away from the desk)

If I remember correctly, the Blue snowball uses standard threads and should fit MOST stands just fine (and some even come with thread adapters just in case)

something adjustable like this floor stand would make the most sense.
You could still get a scissor arm if you had a shock mount...but I wouldn't spend that much on such a cheap mic.....

The thing about the floor stand is that I suspect the snowball would make it fall over if there wasn't enough counterweight... Also, you're meant to face the front part of it, and the stand would put it at an angle.

Personally, I just put my microphone on a tall stool a distance away from my computer. Blankets all around, too.

Well, okay. Maybe I'll buy the normal stand and not the desk one. But I don't want a straight stand, I do still need to adjust the mic how I want if I ever want to do a video or something, like the scissors have. I just need to worry if my mic will even fit. And yeah, the snowball blue mic is really heavy... I read that I must be careful about the size of my mic so that he can even fit the stand. I need to research the size I need... >.> What's his size anyway?? XD I think I saw somewhere 5/3 or something (not very familiar with American sizes, just European XD)
