Note not... shortening.

I'm making a UST, but this one note I accidentally made span way too long in the MIDI. When I go to make it shorter, nothing happens. No white "R" rest. How do I fix it? All the other notes can be shortened.

Yeah. When I imported the MIDI into UTAU I noticed that the note was too long (basically the whole break where the instrumental part is). I made it so that the note's velocity trails off and then goes to 0 at the point I'd have cut it off at, and that works. Even better, actually. But what I'm worried about is releasing the UST: If people reset the UST by accident there's that one really long and unpleasant note.

Ah, yeah, I've come across this problem before. UTAU won't change the length of super duper long notes by dragging to change the length; what you have to do is right-click, hit 'length', and enter how long you want your note to be. A quarter note has a length of 480, so multiply that by however many quarter notes long you want it to be and put it in the box. (Another option is entering a low number such as 480, then the note will be a lot shorter and then UTAU will let you change its length as you would normally.)

Hope that helped! ^^
