OpenUTAU never growls, and its annoying me

No matter how hard i try with vibrato, growl voicebanks, and more, it just never fricking growls! any tips? help!!

What resampler are you using? If it’s WORLDLINE-R, keep in mind it doesn’t like growls very much.

Just download the resampler and put it in the resamplers folder, then go to the little gear icon near the voice bank and set resampler to fresamp

Are you by any chance on Mac instead of Windows? If so, adding resamplers would require additional steps than just moving files around. (There are resamplers ported for Mac as well, but I don't think fresamp is one of them)

If you get any error message, can you screenshot it so people can figure out what went wrong and how to solve it?

yeah fresamp takes a WHILE to render and is a bit heavy, try moresampler its quicker and lighter and does growl in openutau (sometimes)

If you're using the default resampler for OpenUTAU, try pasting 18.75 in period (in the vibrato settings).

Moresampler actually has it's own growl setting!

In open utau, add an expression with the following settings for it to work:

Name: Moresampler Growl
Abbreviation: MG
Type: Numerical
Resampler Flag: MG
Min: 0
Max: 100
Default: 0

Then, in the expression panel at the bottom of the piano roll, select "MG" from the tab:


Then you'll be able to edit the intensity, it should look like this with a phoneme & note input:
