Hello there everyone and Happy New Year ! For the first chronicles of the year (as obviously last week I was slowly recovering from festivities before falling sick again ^^"' ) I decided to launch back the thread in a sweet way ~ The usual format will come back to normal soon and I also decided to open with a few tributes.

Discovery of the Week :

I've tried to search more about this one after having found it by pure coincidence when searching about the song "Idol Dream Factory" but seems it's really an underground tune so I won't confirm whether it's an original or a cover, ,but I decided to put it up as Luo x IA make a wonderful pairing here and are as wonderfully used here !

In A Nutshell...
- Flow Machines project is back with a few new tunes, and they even recently released a song featuring ALYS
- 2 years later, Je Suis Charlie movement went back under the new name "Je suis TOUJOURS Charlie" during the tribute ceremonies
- Release of "Dalida" a new biopic about the singer

About the tributes, I will (again) open with Michel Delpech and David Bowie as one year passed since they joined the sky this week, and it was also David Bowie's birthday on the 8th...

However, I also two more artists I would like to post a song of. As mentioned earlier in the "In A Nutshell... " part, a new biopic about Dalida was released today. More on the sensitive and private part, this biopic kinda follows the same path as the telefilm from 2005, perhaps less emphasizing on the career and more and more on the tragedy she met several times throughout her life. I hope I'll be able to see it so I can talk more about it. Moreover, it's also her birthday soon (next week), on the 17th

(I put the video inside of the picture, click on it)

In two days, along with being Etienne Daho's birthday, on that day sadly people will likely think about another singer who left this world way too soon, just like an angel coming back to Heaven way too quickly...
I decided to put this particular song of his (not only because it's one of my biggest favourite of him, but also because of the recent events, and the threats and extrems of all kinds coming back and forth, and this song about love and tolerance between all humans is like a shield

I wish you all a happy new year with more positivty ! ~ (And hopefully less sadness though it's gonna be hard with wars and so and so)

Hello there ! Back after a few breaks here and there, I decided to put up some songs for Chinese New Year and Vietamese Tet. Thus, there will be some references (in a punny way or not) to Chinese & Vietnamese cultures or music, as well as some references at other parts of Asia, to be ready for Rooster Year ! ♥

In A Nutshell...
- Loalwa Braz was murdered (18/01)
- UNI third demo (Yesterday, today, tomorrow) is up ! (25/01)

Song of the week :

Chorando se foi (more known as La Lambada) is a song which the version above was released back in 1989. Originally, it was a 1981 song by Los Kjakas under the name Llorando se fue, based on an Andean traditional melancholic song. It has known several versions and covers performed by Cuarteto Cntinental Du Peru, Marça Ferreira were realeased in the 1980's. However, it's this unallowed copy recorded by the band Kaoma that worldwidely popularized the dance of the same name (anterior to all adaptations), already famous in the 1980's in Brazil. The sensuality and the moves of the videoclip leaded to this big success. According to popular belief and lyrics, no matter the version this song tells the story of a person (presumably a man) who's on an heartbreak and cries because their lover left. I wanted to put it up as a tribute to the singer Loalwa Braz who was murdered last week.

Artist of the week :
Teresa Teng
teresa-teng1.jpg

A popular Taiwanese singer whose voice was highly praised in her whole career, Teresa Teng was born on the 29th of January in 1953 in Tianyang Village in Taïwan. At an early age, Teng Yi-lun (her birth name) met music and entered several auditions. She won her first major award thanks to a cover of the song "Visiting Yingtai" in 1964. Soon she quit high school to pursue her beginning career. Like an idol, Teresa revealed an amazing voice, often seen as angelic by fellow music partners. In 1968, she signed up her first contract after an audition. Then came her fame attempt in Japan, in 1973. After having tried to enter the market, she was turning successful in Japan, at the point she was even able to enter the famous Kôhaku Uta Gassen, considered as the rendez-vous of successful artists from Japan (even if a very few foreigners could have the chance to perform). Following the young singer then recorded songs in Japanese.

However, the Japanese dream would know some turbulences with the Taiwan-Japanese reelations resulting in blocking between the two countries. Despite this, she was still known and well-liked in Japan. While remaining popular in China, Taiwan and Japan, and thanks to her ability to speak and sing in multiple languages, including even English, the sweet melancholic-voiced singer started to try out Malaysia and Indonesia. Due to her family background, she was also singing military and folk songs. Another obstacle would come in her way : her banning from mainland China due to her and other fellow Taiwanese and Hong-Kong artists considered as not lining-up with the government's tastes. Her fans would not let the government to dictate this and entered in a sort of rebellion through spreading her tunes with the help of black market. Due to all the differnet places where her music would still be played, and her popularity in Asia and above, her songs weren't banned anymore.

Teresa Teng then continued her career, even signing up with a new label and coming-back successfully in Japan. Meanwhile, on her private life side, she was facing some love stories that weren't ending well ..... In the last years of her career, she supported TianAnMen students while performing in Paris, and recorded some songs based on poems from Tang and Song dynasties, as well as recording a version of The Power of Love. She died on the 8th of May 1995 from an heavy asthma attack while being on vacations in Thailand. Soon after it, Taiwan grieved for its beloved singer, with even the presence of the president at her funerals. Despite her loss, Teresa Teng remains a great singers to the eyes of Asian countries, and has kind of entered the "pantheon" of artists from these lands by having had multiple tributes from here and there, including a biopic released by TV asahi called "Teresa Teng Monogatari", a wax statue revealed in 2002 and in 2013 she evven appeared as an hologram to sing three songs. A few museums were made in her honour and fans ofnte go to her house she used to own or other places to celebrate their idol. I decided to put ehr up because her voice is really the one of an angel, and that I find it remarkable how she was able to unite so much people and even so much countries with just her singing, her tenderness and her humility. Moreover, I just remembered it was her irthday soon, so I think it would have been really nice to dedicate her the "Artist of the week" section ~ éuè I will forever rememeber the time I disocvered her through a late-1960's cover of Moon Peach Blossom (and not only because the version's key minded me to some Ferrat & Reggiani-like songs but because I was simply astonished by her voice versatility)

Hello there ! I couldn't post this message on Wednesday, as I needed to finish some work and that lasted longer than expected...
Sooooooooo I've decided to post the update today ! # ~

Discover of the Week :

In a Nutshell...
- Blondie announced the incoming release of her new album
- Thomas Pesquet was featured in Yuksek's new song MV
- Keyboardist Geoff Nicholls from Heavy Metal Black Sabbath passed away
- UK post reveals a series of David Bowie-themed stamps made as a tribute
- Esma Redzepova and Albaye Mbaye passed away
- Lady Gaga will perform at Superbowl

Song of the Week :

Tchoo tchoo (Hold on the line) is a disco song sung by Karen Cheryl and released in 1979. Following the trend she was jumping on on her producers' demand, this light lyricsèfilled tune was another addition to her major success. I disocvered this song only today while I already knew a few other songs and I wish I could have found back the Monaco live on YT as seen in the extract featured in the show. Then, as I said a few times earlier in the chatbox, it always makes me feel funnily weird to look back at the time she was a singer and compare it with her usual presentator job ; it's like seeing someone cool, quiet and shy at day and then see them turning into a magic idol at night haha~

Artist of the Week :
Claude François

Once upon a time, in a land where the wind and nearby sea seem to sing even on the sand dunes, a light was appearing, and another voice would rise and later cross Mediterranea to enchant and captivate in a tornado of energy such a frenzied crowd.
Born on the 1st of February in 1939 in Ismaïlia, Claude François was the second child of an employee in Suez Canal company and an Italian mother. He had grown up in Egypt, went to the French school and was living in a quite golden environment, even if he was refusing to stay in this golden cage and would often go with his sister play with the other children and enjoying local musicians.
growsis He had grown up in Egypt, far away from the horrible war and went to the French school. It was quite a good life, later seen as a golden time, nearly a lost paradise... And in 1956, this was a first shatter. Nasser, the Egyptian president, nationalized the canal, leading British and French to leave the country, mostly without a penny and treaten like animals -and even lesser. Sadly, Claude didn't escape to this situation, and him ad his parents were crossing the Mediterranean sea, leaving everything behind them, and in sinister conditions that would recall what are experimenting migrants nowadays. Arriving in the Southern-Eastern France, while his father Aimé would still believe in his homeland, the family was living in total misery, with the only help of Josette and her lover who were already in France before the nationalization. To help paying the debts, and to not fall into extremes, the young man wanted to earn money and, more important, be what he liked and wished to be : a musician and singer. After a first unsuccessful attempt with Nabout Twist, a song released in both French and Arabic under his chilhood nickname Kôko (being replaced later by cloclo when he gathered some fame) mixing the music style he was used to with twist, he started to work harder and harder, until he could finally make it through the translyrics of Girls, girls, girls (originally sung by the Everly Brothers then Eddie Rodges) turning into his first hit, Belles, belles belles in 1962. After being challenged by a lyricist and taking advantage of the absence of Johnny Hallyday (the biggest idol in that time) who was enroled in Algeria, his career could bloom. Moreover, he was introduced to PAul Lederman, who became his impresario and later be as well the producer of other famous artists like Coluche, Thierry Le Luron, Michel Polnareff, Renaud and plenty of others. Then, success quickly rose with a few more tunes, whereas people and especially young girls were highly intriguated by this powerful typic voice and a charming prince-looking alluring. Being heavily influenced by American and British music, especially Frank Sinatra and the Motown singers, he was one of the very first singers from the yé-yé era to bring some of the characteristics into their music, may it be by adapting some known songs or even creating new ones while including elements in both the choregraphy and the composition. In the beginning, Claude created his own label, Flèche, and the early prototype of the Clodettes concept, female dancers singing and dancing gracefully to accompany him and adding more charm inherited from American music, was coming to life and known as the Fléchettes. For the logo, he was helped by the famous photographer Jean-Marie Périer, who shot him a lot like he did with most artist from France and abroad. This latter had the smart idea to make two versions, one where Claude was in a tuxedo with an arrow behind him (as he thought it was defining him pretty well) skyrocketting, and then one where he was disguised as a hobo with a dog, the arrow down so "in case of failure [he] could use it". When he got on a steadier, he'd later produce other artists like Topaloff or even Alain Chamfort, whom he discovered and sensed the incredible talent. On personal life, it had ups and downs, as he could buy a property in Dannemois and help his family, but also faced the death of his father who let himself perish, and his love life was full of turbulences. Indeed, he was married only once to an American dancer, Janet, who finally left him for Gilbert Bécaud as this latter was already at the top of his career, whereas Claude was still a newcomer. Throughout his life, he'd be like Apollo -full of charms and seen as handsome-looking, yet knowing love stories ending up not so well and highly being seen as an "empty shell" despite his smartness and his ability to talk about politics or other complex topics, showing this facet mostly to his most intimate friends. All of them inspired his songs at some point. One of them would even lead to one of his most known tunes, with the relationship he had with another newcomer like him, and being as graceful and skilled : France Gall. Due to her victory in Eurovision 1965, and the jealousy Claude had felt towards her (since his career was a way to cope with his past and take an avenge on it), as well as other problems leaded to the slow fading of their couple, inspiring the main theme of Comme d'habitude, composed near his pool with Jacques Devaux and Gilles Thibaut.

While the debuts were a bit quiet, this song gained some attention very fast. And fate would make an incredible joke, as for once, Claude François would make a song covered by other artists, him who mainly sung translyrics and adaptations. Indeed, Paul Anka bought the rights and decided to create the song My Way. Whereas Claude's version was about the routine in a couple where the lovers were slowly falling apart, this English version was telling the story of a man who's looking at everything he did in his life. And the sweetest part (if only the idol didn't sadly notice his fan) was the fact Frank Sinatra, one of Claude's ultimate idols among other singers, sang this song. However he never seemed to know about it, to Claude's despair who was still somehow proud and honored to see such a famous singer covering one of his works. Cloclo later had another lvoe story, one of the longest, if not the longest, with Isabelle, a dancer. After having fallen in love, they had a first son, Claude Jr (known as Coco) in 1969. The year after, Marc would complete the family. However, due to his image and as to avoid the mediatization Coco knew, Claude tried to hide him from exposition and not make the same mistake, while making another one in the process by not giving much existence to Marc as he and coco, thanks to their small age gap and looks, could pass off for each other to trick paparazzis. During a show with Michel Drucker, Claude decided to reveal the existence of his second son. Despite the breakup he later had with Isabelle, he still tried to repair his faults by taking care of his children the most he could when stage wasn't keeping him away. After facing other problems, he managed to jump onto the disco bandwagon, that was barely emerging in France. Feeling it'd be the next trend and loving this genre as much as rock, classical, funk, jazz, Egyptian music and other kind of music, it was yet another experiment and another world to explore, as well as a way to stay relevant. He had other love stories as well, and even went abroad musical domain. Indeed, along with the purchase of Podium, a magazine that was turned into a descendant of Salut les Copains and which targets were the young people, Claude also owned a model agency and even created a perfume. Always curious of everything (he was highly keen on new technology he'd bring back from other countries) and trying them out, he composed Eau Noire, a perfume aimed at being used by both males and females. This choice would have been strange if he wasn't all of his life interested in fragrances, at the point he'd even admit smelling was probably one of his most proeminent senses, just like how he'd use his senses to create music and perform ~ Finally, after a short yet intense career, he falls in love for the last time with Kathalyn Jones, an American model. After looking at the work he've done, Claude then wanted to finally try entering the American market, as it was one of his biggest dreams as an artist.
Sadly he disappeared on the 11th of March 1978. Only a day after a last concert hold in Switzerland, where premonitional technical issues occurred... A few months ago, he escaped from an attack as he was yet again angry at a driver and said drivers were who tried to shot him down, and on that occasion he again said how much times he escaped to death since he was a young boy. He was heavily grieved by several fans and given a statue in Dannemois, where they all went, including his mother Lucia, his sister Josette, his songs, his lover and rest of the remaining family. After this, his family (especially his sons when they turned into adults) and some of his former coworkers tried to keep honorating his memory and career by turning Dannemois mill into a museum, and often helping with productions featuring his work. As a result, a re-issue of Podium was released for the 30th anniversary of his disparition. Along with other main things related to his person and his career, there was a 2012 biopic simply called "Cloclo" featuring Jérémie Rénier as Claude François. Showing both the flaws and qualities of his singer, as well as retelling his whole story and being supervised by his sons, this movie was also impressive as Rénier has always been noticed as being probably the only one (safe from his sons) to really look close to him -and I personally share this impression. Among the msot recent tributes, can also be taken in account the album "My Way" in which Matt Pokora sings and remixes some of his most famous tunes. Moreover, the singer reappears in the fresh hologram concert, along with fellow artists like Dalida whose he was sharing common points and origins with.
Why did I choose this artist ? Well, as you may have noticed in the beginning of this huuuuuuge wall is that Wednesday was his birthday. Sorrowfully, as I was busy with an entry I couldn't upload on time to my very own despair. Moreover, he's also my top-fave artist. Most of the time people wonder why and even feel exasperated I like his songs; however that's not because I love this singer a lot that I don't care to other artists I also praise and that it's not because I love these said artists I forget about him. Indeed, most of my influences are both on the "engaged" side, the entertainment, or even both. But jsutly what always amazed me was his vocals because they're quite unique and I easily recognize him even if music is drown in the noise or is playing far away, and that he had what I wish I could have on my own voice (and also envy on other artists with that characteristics) : a powerful, bright, gracefully soaring voice. Moreover he was like a novel character as he knew several incredible things in his life. I also love his perfectionism (even if he was horrid to work with as some of his coworkers expressed because he was like, your ultimate perfectionist that can see any detail, even thsoe only visible throgh a microscope !) and he was -rightfully- considered as an avant-gardiste artist who knew the power of image, and was keen on the next trend, the next technology because of his curiosity. Sure he had flaws, there are even some things he've done that I don't really like, but he had still great qualities. And he even had this particular sensitivity that msot artists tend to share, but in his case it's even more complex and make him less god-like, yet more human and not like a robot. Plus I think with everything he had been through in his entire life, he was surely courageous and I admre this a lot as myself, on the other side, is a pathetic coward... And well, maybe because I've a thing for passionate people, who knows ? ~

Did you know ?
- Due to some complexes, and as he felt like he needed it to be a singer, Claude went to a surgeon, where he managed to get his nose done after having convinced him he'd be successful and he could pay him later, as on that time he was still penniless. Once he earned money and fame he could pay him
- Comme d'habitude nearly knew a translyrics in English known as Even a Fool learns to love, made by David Bowie while he was still an underground artist. However, as he wasn't feeling enough confident in the lyrics he made, the version was never released and after having seen the success he missed, he decided to re-use some of the composition for his famous "Life on Mars ? "
- Ironically, the song was featured during its first release in a show where a song and an event were competing. When Comme d'habitude was broadcasted, the contestant was an horse race. People voted for the horse race over the song.
- He used to run an adult magazine under the alias François Dumoulin.
- Jean-Marie Périer, mainly known for his photographes of stars from the 1960's and 1970's (including other major figures like Johnny Hallyday, Mick Jagger, James Brown, Françoise Hardy, etc) was born on the exact same day as Claude, except it was on a different year. Indeed, he was born on the 1st of February 1940 whereas Claude François was born on the 1st of February 1939. As a result, he shares the same birthday as him.
- He collaborated with famous artists on solme songs, one of the msot famous examples being Le Lundi au soleil Patrick Juvet have done and sang a version of ~ He even performed bilingual versions of songs he've made adaptations of, like with Diana Ross & the Supremes

Bonus :
As tomorrow will be his birthday, here's one more reason to put up again a song of Daniel Balavoine :

Moreover, today is also CD's second anniversary :

~ Hello there ! ~
~ I will make a special update, before finally releasing the major one dedicated to four events involving music & arts having happened recently : Victoires de la musique, the Césars, the Oscars and the brit awards. Since it's taking a bit of time because it involves a lot of pictures to upload and to check the size of for a cleaner and more intuitive look, and that I don't know if i'll go with everything in a roll -or slice in four parts in case the message would be too long despite the use of spoilers- I'm keeping it for next time. As it was my birthday last week (and sadly today wasn't much a date I enjoy and kinda feel cursed because of several horrible things having happened on it (incident in Japan being the latest of the cursed series - ) I upload tonight a few songs of my idol, one is still pretty well-known, but i wanted to show more a few others that aren't aired as much as his other hits and that I enjoy because theyhave something special that strike me as well, may it be beause of the lyrics, the song's overall mood or the vocal games. In the next update, when I list down all nominees and winners of each event, I will also feature the discoveries done within the last weeks ; some of you may recognize some since I've spammed them already in the chatbox -and one of them being a few months old, compared with the other sounds being way much fresher and recent. Thanks for your understanding ~

A song that kinda brings tears to my eyes (though not as violently as on two other ones in particular) with still this vibrant voice... Whenever I hear it, I feel and the lyrics are quite deep in a sense where a fading love story and the thoughts of a singer who wonders if they'll still be liked and exist, in a world where everything can change so quickly, blend into an emotional message. Seeing this live emphasizes a lot on it and the tension gets stronger...

A cover of Janis Ian's "At seventeen". In this version, lyrics were changed to fit a bit more to his own youth, when he and his family just arrived in France and all of the social avenge he wanted to take on these years when he was subishing the gap between him and other young people who were living in opulence. From his own explanation during a talk show, "Until age of 17-18, world seems nice and you feel like it's a bed of roses".

I've disocvered this one back in middle school on a compilation. I often spam it because it belongs to these songs that feel so mysterious, nearly mystical, kinda like what you'd find on Etienne Daho side (even if it's another story). Also, the literal vocal games both performed by Cloclo and the clodettes add charm and strangeness to this song.

Seriously, it feels like i'm going onto the emotional and sad side haha.... Though I wanted to show this one as it's quite an unknown song in the ocean of covers and originals he sang in his life... All started with a paricular encounter between him and a youong fan named Lisette Malfoy. Sadly, this little girl learnt she was diagnotisized with a serious disease and wouldn't have much time.... Her mother encouraged her in writing to Claude. As a result, and despite not knowing how to answer well to this request, he and his musicians decided to come at the little girl's house. He talked to her before doing his concert, and put as much energy in it as he would do for every performance. All of the neighbours came nearby as they heard music. A few months later, Lisette would join the angels in the sky. This song was a tribute to this fan whose destiny affected Claude.

as parents protect you from it and

Hello everyone ! Spring has arrived, it's beautiful, it's rebirth, flowers are blooming everywheree~ Hence this update that will Spring-themed ! Most of Spring used as metaphor or in a literal way in songs will be featured in the bonus section ^^ Moreover, since I've been to the excellent concert of Alain Chamfort in Puy-en-Velay (and spent probably one of the best nights ever in my whole life -though I've spammed this evening's events in the chatbox lol ) and that I've (re)discovered a young talent previously heard in Alcaline, I've decided to include a reference to Alain, as well as dedicating the Artist of the Week(s) section to Hugo Barriol ! ~ Sorry, the recapitulation update will come a bit later, and I think I'll keep the Eurovision one around the time of broadcast so you can still all have the surprise for most of entries n.n Also, due to sorrowful events today, I've decided to keep the Discovery of the week for a British famous band that I'm sure you listened to at least one song of, and reiterate my support to UK victims (as well to other victims in the world, and a little thought too for Belgium who celebrated the first eyar of the airport and metro attacks)

Here we go ! ♥

µIn a Nutshell...
- Joni Sledge from Sister Sledge passed away (10/03)
- Chuck Berry passed away (17/03)
- Attacks in London happened (22/03)
- Belgium commemorates underground and airport attacks (22/03)

Discovery of the Week(s) :

After my birthday, around two weeks and a half ago I started to listen to this song of Depeche Mode, featured in their newest album Spirit. Along with a catchy music and rhythm, the meaning of the lyrics really caught me, as it deals with fear of populism and other threats going on.

Song of the Week(s) :

A little wink to my escapade in Puy-en-Velay, and this wonderful night~ Realeased in 2015, on Alain Chamfort's eponymous album, Joy is one of my biggest most favourite songs of him ever~ Basically, the story deals with a literal love at first sight between a man and a woman called Joy who's younger than him. Throughout the whole song, the narrator depicts he differences of character between him and Joy, as he's more of a taciturn, quiet person whereas the young woman is full of energy, cheerful and the way this story would continue. Along with the composition and the lyrics, Alain's voice is, as usual, so smooth, sweet and mesmerizing, with some sensual moments. Also, unlike some other songs, effects were played around more, as you can hear towards the end or on the harmonies. And THIS guys, is how effects of this kind of or the kind of Autotune should be used !! //shotdown

Artist of the Week(s) :

Hugo Barriol
Aged 27, Hugo Barriol comes from Saint-Etienne. His will to become a musician sparkled from his experience in Australia, where he had been living in for 3 years. There, after encountering difficult in getting a job, his friend suggested him to play in the station. This particular step will later inspire him for his song "On the road". The young man hence followed his instinct and decide to play his own compositions. People started to notice him, even catching the attention of some producers and reality show teams. However he didn't want to try out shows like The Voice and instead decided to apply to RATP music contest. After winning the status and award of "best metro station singer" in Paris, Hugo became more known and ending up signing his first contracts. This year he is performing of Alain Chamfort's concerts during this latter's tour. Hugo's voice is warm, with good variations so I really like it ~ He does have potential and after the concert I met a really funny and nice person, with a good character. I wish him all of luck and will like to listen to future works from him ~

Hello ! ~ ♥ Due to -yet again- unexpected events I couldn't post this short update on Wednesday, so as it was still Easters' week-end for a part of the world, I decided to post it tonight ~

Discover of the weekS :

As you may know, last month was seeing Miku Day (9th of March) running and brought attention to one thing even myself can't believe, so mind you time really flies that fast : Miku voicebank will be 10 years old ! Indeed, her first time as a released product was back in 2007 ^^ Thus, as I was looking at my stream on SC then doing a search, I fell on this amazing tiny tune that was made in honour of Miku's 10th anniversary, hence the theme of the lyrics ! I think it'd deserve a little bit of love, personally ;w;"'

In A Nutshell...
- 40 th anniversary of Jacques Prévert's death ; exhibitions, CD releases and othr activities are planned as tribute
- Attacks in Sweden, Egypt and other places
- Coachella Festival
- Due to tensions involving a concert hold in Crimea back in 2015, Ukrainia banned for three years Russia's Eurovision candidate Ioulia Samoilova from entering the territory, and leading Russia to refuse the broadcasting of the show on their antenna (14/04)
- "Printemps solidaire" event : singers like M take part to animations and concerts on Champs-Elysées to raise awareness about AIDS (16/04 à )

Song of the WeekS :

As some may know due to random spamming in the chatbox and on my profile statuses, and sometimes heated comments and critics about it, in my country will be hold soon presidential elections ^^"' Due to this whole mess, I couldn't resist and picked this old song sung by Jacques Dutronc that I personally enjoy. Basically, it tells the story of a man who's a big opportunist and always seeks the group he wants to belong to, only for his own gain and not for ideals, which lyrics describes the hypocrisy of such a behaviour and are mostly a critics towards politicians. It goes that far as at the last lines, the narrator says he changed his mind (as he turned a coat) so much after turning said coat (following idiomatic) he decides to continue with it at any price, as with the metaphor -and idiomatic- to turn his pants.... As a result, this song is often used by people to mock the tendancy some people, especially politicians, to mostly think only about power, money, and only follow like sheeps any group or person who are popular and powerful until it breaks down and they seek another more powerful and potentially making them artificially appear as important. And sadly because this song still resonates in nowadays context...

Artist of the WeekS :
ASDR

I know, it's quite of a particular case as it's more of a label, but I decided to feature them in the artist of the weekS as they released a short preview of their next album, an 80's-inspired one ! AssembleSynthesizeDirectRelay unites Vocaloid and UTAU composers, including famous ones like Empath-P, nostraightanswer or even baggagelizard. Founded in December 2014 by Mrs Peach, this collaborative group works on charity projects, especially ones which proceeds goo to befrienders.org, an organization whose members work on suicide prevention. So far 5 albums were released, the latest so far being Circuit Breaker.

Hello there ! ~ Tiny update as I'm going onto the 30-UTAU challenge and i'll start tomorrow, so his thread will get even much more slowed down ^^"'s My apologizes for it.... I will try to show a few of Eurovision's entries -not all because i decided to keep the surprise for other entries, so I'll pick around 6 or 7, perhaps 8... Also tomorrow, don' firget your lovely lily-of-the-valley ~ Today is yet again another tribute, as there were some particular dates going on the end of this April month.... I've picked three artists whose i'll link down a video of :

On the 25th of April 1972, life would end tragically for Mike Brant. I've chosen this one as it's one of the most emblematic he sung, and also because it shows much all of his voice's abilities, especially towards the end when I personally love the way he holds the last notes...

On 29th of April, another date, another singer's death : Eric Charden's baxck in 2012. Mainly known for being half of the mythical couple of artists with Stone, he was a popular singer back in the 1970's. Why did I choose this over other ones like Made in Normandie ? Simply because I love how energetic it sounds, the composition, and how it's pure festive nature for you to feel lighter.... Moreover whenever I listen to this song I suddenly gain a lot of energy, and after all, isn't it among the perfect tunes to talk about incoming Summer with its nearly-ropical wamrth and light ? :D

On the 30th of April, an angel was coming back to heaven, to the sky.... It's being 10 years old now and this song resonates again in my mind..... Along with being one of the most noticeable songs of him, this tune always tore my heart because of alll of the beauty and sensitivity echoing from the lyrics....; And this voice was amazing.... He was also praised for being one of the very few artists who're able to cover Daniel Balavoine's songs perfectly. He was around my age when he left, and his fight against illness to make his dreams come true is showing all of the courageous nature he had, as well as it helped raising awareness about it.

Today, 3rd of May, was the 30th anniversary of Dalida's death. I would have put Mourir sur scène but as this night is already gloomy as heck, so I wanted a lighter song to provide a joyful tribute. Moreover, her wardrove is currently exposed in Paris (if i'm not wrong) until August 2017. A wonderful diva, who brough happiness and love to people, while she had to deal with sadness and was unlucky in her love life . And thank God France was a free country, because if it was another kind of president(s) maybe she wouldn't have been able to make a career here and we would have surely missed an amazing, unique and eternal voice.

Hello there guys ! ~ ♥ So tonight I'm making the mini-update, as on Saturday night will be hold the 2017 edition of Eurovision ! As a result, I will deidcate to this year's entries ! ^^ After having seen first part of demi-finals (and having survived to lolzy comments by Marianne James and Jarry while waiting for the finals' comments by MArianne James, Stéphane Bern and Amir ) I've decided to pick up some entries at random (not all to let you the surprise ! )
Due to media limitations some will be from SC xS So I'm deeply sorry about it, and if you want to look up the Mv, you'll find the name and title of artist and song =S

Sadly, a few favourites of mine couldn't make it to the finals so I'll put them apart ! ~

We start with one of the msot undercovered entries so far, with a nice MV, a song with a good share of punchiness and sweetness at the same time from my Swiss neighbours ! ~
Switzerland :

As I really like our entry despite sounding very different from Amir's last year as the style is more inspired by tango-esque feels while remaining an electro-pop song, I will spread our own one ! ♥ As for Amir's song, Alma's is also bilingual this year !
France :

Sax guy is back ! Serguey and the rest of SunStroke Project finally made it to the finals and I decided to show you their new entry song, different from past one bt still as catchy ~ Here goes Moldova !
Moldova :

One of the biggest favourite, already nicknamed "King of eurovision" due to his popularity, Italy's candidate sure has a lot of cool things : the typical "smoky" voice msot of Italian singers have and that always makes me feel go waaaah , a cool catchy song, deep lyrics, a dancing ape on stage !
Italy :

A very shy guy, vaguely compared to Jacques Brel and Julien Doré (and I understood why such a strange parallel, especially with two artists from different generations, genre, voicetypes and so on) and one of the very few songs to be sung in the country's language ! Here we go with sweetness in Portugal 's entry :
Portugal :

A breathtaking performance with a note hold for around 15 sec at full power and volume (aka goals // shot )
Albania :

Special entries :

These are some of my big favourites but sadly couldn't make it =S https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QecWkJWB7zI

This one is kinda special .... If I was ever drawing a parallel with unrelated things as for a comparison, he's kinda the Jean Lassalle of eurovision : fancy and quirky attire and expression at its best, yet a lot of great potential down there ! More than just a lolzy ROFLcopter variant, this candidate offers a song I deeply love, with an amazing space theme that minds me a lot to the 80's-early 90's ; here comes Montenegrin candidate ! You can listen to it here below :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ1BXJpfa4I

A more serious song, coming from Georgia and that was the first one of this year's edition I've found on YT ; also one of my biggest favourites with Italy and our own one, as well as plenty of others discovered during the semi-finals (like Greece and Portugal)

https://soundcloud.com/eurovision-473103895/georgia-2017

Among the special entries, here comes one from Latvia that would also fall into the "WTF moment" section of my chronicles as it is as fancy and lolzy as Montenegro's entry ... However, same comment, sure the packagae may look weird (here we went with all of the Sailor Moon on acid comments from animators ) but the song is cool, even though it doesn't appeal to me as much as "Space" and is particularly flashier with the scenography (BEWARE EPILEPTIC FLASHING LIGHTS !!! )

I apologize for alll of the delay .... As I said I will put up the video of the winner of Eurovision as I was suppsoed to do as soon as results were known... I'll do it in next update .... Lately, some devils killed off people, even including chidlren and teenagers directly targeted. Thus again all support to the victims, their families, and to UK.

Moreover, right after Manchester attacks, and before London's ones, one great actor was taken away by disease (even if it was at a great age) , one of the msot popular James Bond actors, Lord Brett Sinclair, but not only those roles.... I also wanted to make a tiny tribute to Roger Moore, and well.... With London attacks it really adds to a weird sensation .... Therefore, I've decided to put up the famous Persuaders' opening theme as tribute for Roger Moore

In honour of the victims in Manchester, here the charity concert hold yesterday night featring Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Coldplay, and other big names :

I may edit this update in some hours if I can since I need to go .....

Hello there guys ! ~ ♥ It's been a long time, huh ? Due to the forum's maintenance andwork making mebusy, I've delayed this Summer-themed update.... Though it enabled me then to update this update ~ Anyway, here we go !

I wouldn't have posted this update without talking about one of my idols, as this year, Comme d'habitude (later become My Way and was covered some thousand times in different languages, by different singers and which lyrics differ from the French one's lyrics meaning, giving it a new flavour and story) turns 50 years !

Since I've been to more amazing concerts recently (even though I'm still reminding the Puy-en-Velay one with Alain Chamfort and Hugo Barriol ... Really, you rock guys ! I will never forget this magic night with you) and thus, I've been to Pause Guitare in Albi ~ %Mostly to listen to (but couldn't meet after haha ;;"' ) Salvatore Adamo, Renaud and ZZ Top, but I've also discovered a band whose I think I4ve heard a song of prior to the concert.... Saratoga, a duo coming right from Canada !
