~ Hello there ! ~
~ I will make a special update, before finally releasing the major one dedicated to four events involving music & arts having happened recently : Victoires de la musique, the Césars, the Oscars and the brit awards. Since it's taking a bit of time because it involves a lot of pictures to upload and to check the size of for a cleaner and more intuitive look, and that I don't know if i'll go with everything in a roll -or slice in four parts in case the message would be too long despite the use of spoilers- I'm keeping it for next time. As it was my birthday last week (and sadly today wasn't much a date I enjoy and kinda feel cursed because of several horrible things having happened on it (incident in Japan being the latest of the cursed series - ) I upload tonight a few songs of my idol, one is still pretty well-known, but i wanted to show more a few others that aren't aired as much as his other hits and that I enjoy because theyhave something special that strike me as well, may it be beause of the lyrics, the song's overall mood or the vocal games. In the next update, when I list down all nominees and winners of each event, I will also feature the discoveries done within the last weeks ; some of you may recognize some since I've spammed them already in the chatbox -and one of them being a few months old, compared with the other sounds being way much fresher and recent. Thanks for your understanding ~
A song that kinda brings tears to my eyes (though not as violently as on two other ones in particular) with still this vibrant voice... Whenever I hear it, I feel and the lyrics are quite deep in a sense where a fading love story and the thoughts of a singer who wonders if they'll still be liked and exist, in a world where everything can change so quickly, blend into an emotional message. Seeing this live emphasizes a lot on it and the tension gets stronger...
A cover of Janis Ian's "At seventeen". In this version, lyrics were changed to fit a bit more to his own youth, when he and his family just arrived in France and all of the social avenge he wanted to take on these years when he was subishing the gap between him and other young people who were living in opulence. From his own explanation during a talk show, "Until age of 17-18, world seems nice and you feel like it's a bed of roses".
I've disocvered this one back in middle school on a compilation. I often spam it because it belongs to these songs that feel so mysterious, nearly mystical, kinda like what you'd find on Etienne Daho side (even if it's another story). Also, the literal vocal games both performed by Cloclo and the clodettes add charm and strangeness to this song.
Seriously, it feels like i'm going onto the emotional and sad side haha.... Though I wanted to show this one as it's quite an unknown song in the ocean of covers and originals he sang in his life... All started with a paricular encounter between him and a youong fan named Lisette Malfoy. Sadly, this little girl learnt she was diagnotisized with a serious disease and wouldn't have much time.... Her mother encouraged her in writing to Claude. As a result, and despite not knowing how to answer well to this request, he and his musicians decided to come at the little girl's house. He talked to her before doing his concert, and put as much energy in it as he would do for every performance. All of the neighbours came nearby as they heard music. A few months later, Lisette would join the angels in the sky. This song was a tribute to this fan whose destiny affected Claude.
