Really long S in se and sa sound?

Ok so, whenever I use the 'se' or 'sa' sound, it has a really long S sound. I've tried to fix it, but that doesn't work. Its only for those two. 'So' isn't a problem. I don't know how to use oto.ini, so if that's the problem I would like some help.
Thank you! C:

Yeah it's definitely the OTO. If you don't have one configured, you need to!! Here's a tutorial to help you out.

Thanks, that's really helpful! It fixed up my other sounds, but 'se' is still a problem.

You could also try changing consanant velocity to 200, but otoing is probably better

Then just move the offset back and forth until you have cut off enough of the consonant so that it doesn't sound weird.

(The offset is the blue one that comes out from the left~)

But in reply to an older comment in this thread, yes. Otos are v e r y necessary.

Thank you! I'll try that.

I thought when oto'ing that you're supposed to include all of the consonant portion; if you cut off the beginning isn't that going to make the consonant sound weird?

FWIW you can enter higher consonant velocities than 200 & they will work & save, but will not reload when loading the saved UST.

It kinda does, but it's better to cut off consonants that are too long than to leave them too long because then it sounds like stuttering during fast songs.

Also high consonant velocity is a bit frowned upon, at least to what I've known. It's usually for VCV banks & if higher than 150 is needed then it's sorta implied that the OTO is botched

Yeah, true.

Generally I start with a 180 consonant velocity working with VCV and then I adjust as needed. (Generally 180 makes it sound sooo choppy, so I think generally maybe a 90 in consonant velocity for VCV would be best)

Honestly, if you are pronouncing the consonants for too long then that is a good way to screw up your bank.

VCV, anyways.

In CV it can be fixed just be offest-ing the extra consonant.

So if you're using CV, I think just otoing off the extra consonant will be the best thing to do~
