Scratchy sounds when a long note is played?

I actually see this with many voicebanks (using utau-synth btw sooo)
Ok this is probably really silly, but when I first recorded and oto-ed my voicebank when ever a longer note was played, it would have a scratchy /bleeping noise near the end. I re-recorded with a better mic and it was still there. The recordings were actually just fine

If a voicebank has that problem, go to the voicebanks oto (command g ) and make sure the red and green lines are not far apart. (er, make sure they are closer together, and in vowels, that the green is past the red.] They should be 2-5 seconds apart (from my knowledge)

When a note is played, I believe it repeats the sound from where the consonant/red line is. Another problem (with vowels) is that it repeats when your voice is "warming up" or getting louder. Just move the red and green further into the vowel and still around 2 seconds apart

Don't know if this is already posted in another thread but I searched around a bit and couldn't find anything

Hope this helped someone :uhuhu:

I think I got that before when I had problems with the .frq files.

If there aren't that many samples which get the bug you can fix them individually using this guide.

But if it happens on all samples, you could try re-recording.

you can do what Lightzaver said and edit the frq files manually, Ido this quite a bit with my banks.

If it is a lot of those, you can change your default sampler to fresamp (temporarily), delete the frq files and let fresamp make new ones...***
there are...two...I think...versions of fresamp out so try this with both...I suggest fresamp14...

resampler is a bit cooky with frqs and I almost never use it any more...It has improved since 2.76 but at the same time I liked the old version better...

***You can cheat and render all the sounds at once in the oto configuration page!
double click between the OK and CANCEL buttons, it should bring up a small window that has three options...select the first and click the left button.
A black prompt will open and start to render the new frq (even replace ones already there).

You can close UTAU and the black window SHOULD stay open and do it's job
