SO-CAL UTAU MEET 2012 [LOCATION CONFIRMED: Santa Monica Pier]

Pretty much it goes like this. I'm from Los Angeles, CA but I go to le Uni at NY. While tweeting one night  I come to a realization that there are a hella lot of us in the LA area. So after thinking about it and having been in NY for some time where random meet ups are common place with like Homestuck and Vocaloid. So why not with UTAU where there are alot of us too? This would be a pretty boss idea and a way to bring people of the area in the same fandom closer too methinks~

If you live in the LA area or somewhere nearby I propose we can have like a Meet-Up to bring peeps closer~ And not just a boring old meet up that can happen at AX or something, I want to make this special for the SoCal peeps of the fnadom~
And while there isn't a set date or place yet here's where I come to you~ As a group we can all decide a date and place that would be most convenient for the majority and have a plan set!
So I had a few places in mind but I'm still open to suggestions! As for a date I envisioned some time in Late May since I know the Schools wouldn't be on Summer break for a while but I get out at the end of this month. And I gotta consider the kids taking AP exams so whenever those are done would be a good time.  Also we'll be needing to figure out transportation for everyone and to those who are underage about if your parents are okay with letting you come or if they can, to join us for the day~ As well as money if say for example we want to go to a theme place we can all pitch in and spend the whole day like at Disney land or something (not saying this is gonna happen but it's possible). Also lets keep this realistic and not say like let's all go to Seaworld or something on a random Wednesday or something!

as for places I have a few places in mind already:

Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica: There's tons to do on the pier and we can chill at the shore of the beach.
Aquarium Way, Long Beach: Awesome places to eat and the park area has a lighthouse and a large grassy area.

I've been to meet ups to these places before and they are really good spots for chilling with large groups of people

I'm still open to other places it you guys have suggestions on place and time~ Maybe if someone else is willing to help me organize this we can probably use Skype to get the finer details down.

So anyone interested in seeing this go through?

Sometimes it sucks to live/go to college in the middle section of the U.S. (read: not anywhere near either coast).
I am determined to meet you all someday, but apparently it won't be this time.

Unfortunately, I can't drive at this point so anything furter than walking distance has to be approved by parents unless I can pull a massive stunt like bringing an IRL friend along and pretending to my parents we just met you...

I'm certain you can reason with them somehow, I mean you can say you are going to college and stuff, why not use your first summer out of school to do fun stuff like this?

It doesn't matter, well know or not, I want to use this as a way for the fandom to get together~ at least the So-Cal peeps~

Well I am local and a more than proficient driver. Confirm me for brawl if only for a chance to hang out with OG again.

I like the first location suggestion. Fan of the pier, fun and sun but the place is really weather dependant. When it is hot it is really hot ice cream or boba helps but not many places to hang about as socialize.

As per usual gonna throw Little Tokyo into the hat, if only because Weeaboos love the place and it is easy to get to. It is near Grand Centeral Station, where all roads lead to in LA, and has a Gold Line stop if I am not mistaken.

Other cool places might be one of the Westfield malls, suitibly public, pretty safe, food courts to eat, and depending on which one there can be a variety of things to so. I am partial to the Santa Anita mall simply because it has the biggest food court.

Well I'm still open to other suggestions and ofc, how can I forget Little Tokyo~
Still, this won't be happening until like late May, early June, at least idealy so keep the ideas coming~

Also I've been thinking maybe if it can be possible to get a discount if we are a large enough group or even with a small group and come to some form of agreement, maybe we can go to Knotts Berry Farm~ This is a long shot I know but putting it out there as a possibility

As well as Camelot Golf land for arcade times~~

As for Westfield Malls, I'll look into that too, but at a later time as I have exams coming up soon but in about 2 weeks I'mma get the ball rollin' again~

Sorry bout the double post BUT.... exams are done an I can now focus on the plannings for this. Still open for suggestions and times. I'm settled for sometime at the end of this month, after AP exam times. Let's get plannin' people~

But the location has been confirmed for The Santa Monica Pier. Now while the actual date itself is pending; keep next week open June 5-9th open since those are most likely the days it will land on.
