In the very first episode of SZS we see how the main character comments his name has a number of strokes related to bad luck.
That's a real thing in Japanese culture (it comes from China, I think).
This type of adivination seems to be called "姓名判断" -“Seimei Handan”-. Check an English explanation in here.
So, is the Japanese name of your character a lucky name?
(_Note_ Just ignore the results if they end as bad luck! Don't take it seriously.)
How to get it:
1)Japanese order is used: First family name and then name.
For example: 唄音ウタ (defoko's name)
2)Check the number of strokes of each character. You could use this dictionary for the Kanji and for kana this spoiler.
For our example: 唄(10)音(9)ウ(3)タ(3)
3)You make five operations of addition.
①Only the surname: 唄(10)+音(9) = 19
(There are as many character as the surname has.)
②Only last character of the surname with first of the name: 音(9)+ウ(3) = 12
If any has only one character, that character counts.
(There are only two character in this operation.)
③Name: ウ(3)+タ(3) = 6
(There are as many character as the name has.)
④This one is tricky. For the surname every character except for the last one and all of the name except the first one (the outside). For our example: 唄(10)+タ(3) = 13
BUT, if the surname or the name has only one character that character counts (so, the minimum of characters used is two).
⑤All the characters: 唄(10)+音(9)+ウ(3)+タ(3) = 25
If any of the operations is bigger than 80, subtract 80 until it's less or the same as 80.
4) Check the luck in this list (paste from here):
最大吉(Sai Dai Kichi) : Super Excellent — 6, 15, 24, 31, 47 and 63.
大吉(Dai Kichi) : Very Good — 1, 3, 5, 11, 13, 16, 21, 23, 29, 32, 33, 37, 39, 41, 45, 52, 65, 67 and 68.
吉(Kichi) : Good — 7, 8, 17, 18, 25, 35, 38, 48, 57, 58, 61, 71, 73, 75, 77 and 78.
凶(Kyou) : Not Good — 14, 22, 26, 27, 28, 30, 42, 43, 46, 49, 50, 51, 53, 55, 56, 59, 72 and 74.
大凶(Dai Kyou): Bad — 2, 4, 12, 34, 36, 40, 44, 54, 60, 62, 64, 66, 69, 70, 76, 79 and 80.
最大凶(Sai Dai Kyou) : Very Bad — 9, 10, 19 and 20.
NOTE: It seems Chinese names goes up to 81 and uses this chart.
RESULT:
