Trying to make usts using LMMS

Hi! I'm farly new to UTAU, specifically ust making and miding. I've seen a lot of UST tutorials, but all of them use FL Studio or a paid software for miding, I only have lmms and don't want to spend any money on stuff like FL Studio. Can anyone give a small tutorial on miding with lmms? I know lmms and FL Studio are similar in some ways, but they're vastly different in terms of ust making. I'd love to see how some UTAU users do it!

You would use the exact same technique between all DAWs. Set the tempo to match the song. On one track, you have your song's audio, aligned to the beat. On another track, use a temporary midi instrument to trace the vocal melody. You can use more tracks to trace vocal harmonies. Then export the midi files and import them into UTAU or your synth of choice.

I've always been using LMMS in creating USTs, usually for non-vocaloid songs and songs that you can't find the midi. You can see my latest cover on this forum, Onderweg Naar Later, it's a Dutch song. I made the UST using LMMS, and also the mixing! :D

What Kiyoteru said is literally what I do every time I make a UST XD

For some reason, even if I change the tempo, the midi is still a different bpm.. Am I doing something wrong?

If you're having trouble with the BPM in the DAW, I recommend creating an automation track and setting the BPM with that.

If the BPM of the midi is changing when you import it into UTAU, go to the first note, right-click, and then select "Tempo" under the note options. Set it to the proper tempo if it's not already (sometimes UTAU imports MIDIs and sets them to 50000 BPM which is bad)
