UST Cache deleting itself?

I've been using UTAU for 2 years now and have never had this issue before, so I fear it may be related to external factors about my laptop rather than UTAU itself, but it's worth asking to see if anyone's had similar experiences with this or can suggest something.

Lately, when I try to save a UST, all the information about the file will delete itself. I'll save, then when I go back in, the file is completely blank. The actual file itself is still there though, it's only the UST's information that's been wiped. Attempting to go back using the undo button won't do anything, but that's the only thing I can think of. If it's of any relevance, UTAU is installed in my laptop's program files C: (not x86), but the UST is stored in a thumb drive. There is plenty of storage in the thumb drive.

It's super upsetting that so much of my work is now gone and I'm at a loss for what to do about this. Please help? Is there a way I can fix this + get the UST back?

The cache folder itself would only contain old audio files from the last time you rendered the notes. What else are you losing?

USB flash drive storage can be quite unstable, so I would recommend saving things elsewhere too.

Nothing else stored in my flash drive has been affected like this, so I'm only losing USTs. In terms of the UST though, pretty much everything other than the file itself is gone. The cache folder is still there, and it should have data in it from when I rendered the UST beforehand since I had worked on it before successfully; it was only wiped at the end of the tuning process. But now when I open the corresponding UST file for it in UTAU, everything is gone and it is a completely blank file with no syllables.

And I see, I didn't know they could be this unstable, thank you :,)) I think you're probably right that it's my flash drive that's the problem, maybe I accidentally removed it improperly some time and didn't notice. I'll save it to my normal PC from now on, but in the meantime, would you happen to know of any way to possibly restore what I had before? I've tried the chkdsk X: /f in command prompt method and it didn't work sadly.
