UTAU choruses: By yourself VS With others

From what I've seen with UTAU choruses, lots of people do it by themselves more than collaborating with others.

As in:
- One person asks others for their UTAU
- People offer their UTAU
- Person downloads all those voicebanks, edits and renders USTs with those voicebanks
- Person mixes everything by him/herself
For example, this chorus (in the description, the maker hints he/she did it by him/herself).

I see this a lot and have only seen one chorus so far where multiple people contributed (tuning the usts and stuff).

What is your opinion on this? Doesn't it take a lot of effort to do this by yourselves?

I actually tried doing an UTAU chorus once when I first started UTAU. Being a complete n00b back then, I didn't know how to fit in voicebanks and didn't know when changing the pitch, it should be by octave. It ended up being completely shitty and demonic sounding after spending a lot of time on it so I rage quitted. Now I'm kinda too scared to attempt one again. haha XD.

I think people do it by themselves because when you let other people participate…there's too many factors that can, and often do, go wrong. You have to rely on everyone submitting their part. You have to hope that there isn't a giant disparity between quality and effort - it would be a bit unfair if in your chorus is one person with a very high quality bank and incredible tuning while someone else is just new and doesn't know as much; it makes those new people look very bad. And you have to hope that you get it all in the time span you want.

If I ever do a chorus, I know I'll do it alone for those reasons. I want the voices to be of similar quality and all the parts to have my high standard of tuning so everything will be good and no one will be underrepresented.

I never really made any chorus covers yet =C (except duets, and even...)

But when I get time, I guess I'll go by myself, as I prefer to try doing everything by myself so I can improve.... After I can do collabs, I've nothing against it, but it's just I'm always scared to look like I'm relying on the others ;_;
