I apologize for my long absense (not that anyone noticed, methinks :P) but I've had various real-world things to deal with. Lately I have picked up UTAU again, and in order to ease installation wrote a script for PlayOnLinux to automate the process, including the activation of the built-in english fallback. If you want to use it you will have to install PlayOnLinux and search their database under "Multimedia", and install the japanese locale on your machine. You will also have to tick the "Testing" option for it to show.
The current script installs version 4.16, and I will be updating it as newer versions appear.
