VCV otoing help: I can't seem to get it quite right

So I recently recorded samples for a VCV voicebank, using Oremo to record them. I used the song to time my recordings and I have all the files and I started to oto the sounds. However no matter what I do the sounds just don't sound right. The syllables don't flow from one to another, and I think I am doing something wrong.
A anyone able to help me?
If you need more info just ask, and I would like to figure this out for future voicebanks.
Thank you!

GuideBGM is one of the most helpful things for efficiently recording a VCV voicebank.

Is your reclist in hiragana? If so, you'll be able to use OREMO's built in OTO generator. It should give you accurate results.
You'll need to give it two numbers. One is the tempo of the guideBGM, and the other is the initial offset. For the default guideBGM, tempo is 100 and the offset... might be 300? I'm not sure.

My reclist was in romaji. I tried using the vreate oto function but it always ended up with only 0's as the parameters. Is there any reason for why that would be?
