Ways to Improve on Motivation..?

I ended up coming back to the Utau forums after a while, not only due to school and vacation but because I've seriously lacked motivation to do any new songs. I just personally feel as if sometimes I'm wasting my efforts & time. I enjoy making songs very much, but one of my major problems is that I'm not an artist. I hate reusing pictures & it's VERY difficult for me to get cover art in time. I usually need to wait a week AFTER making a song just to get a cover up. You can imagine how frustrating this is.. :/

But anyway...I want to try integrating myself here again and making videos, though the problem is still at hand. Tell me, community, how do you motivate yourself to continue making videos & songs?

Keep it fresh. Do new things. I'm currently making an English voicebank, and like no one makes those. Keep it new, interesting, and original and you'll never get bored. Maybe compose an original song yourself? If you work on a long term project you will feel like you accomplished something really big. Not sure what to do about the art problem, I suffer from the same problem.

The art problem really isn't a big deal. I draw most of my own cover art, but that doesn't mean I put up videos any faster. xD I have plenty of covers I've done from months and weeks ago, but never got around to making cover art for them. Plus I don't understand what your big rush about it is.

The nice thing about it is that those were covers that sounded good at the time, but listening back on them, I'm glad I never put them up because I've already gotten better. So just keep improving and not letting silly things like being unable to put them up get in the way. You don't have to share every one you make (plus it starts becoming like spam if you do. Heaven knows people would be annoyed if I posted EVERY SINGLE COVER I'VE MADE. Most I keep to myself.)

Ant- That does sound interesting. o3 o I would like to tackle an English VB one of these days but I just never get around to it. I always seem to be too busy. :c Composing original songs..Will not work for me. ; I've tried it before and it has flopped horribly. @_@

Meta- To me it is. I like being able to have some sort of visual up with my videos. x3 I don't have a big rush. I just don't like taking a long time to release something is all. >< Mind you, I don't post like four or five videos a week, that seems to be over kill. And if it's the case, it's because I know I'll be doing something in the upcoming week that will stop me from posting anything up for what could be a while.

Oh I know that. xD I am a prude with my work. If I don't like it, it will never see the light of day but if it's exceptional, then I will most definitely share it. Then again..I get conscious that people will get annoyed with me simply posting one cover, even when it's very sparingly. ><''
