when i put japanese wav files into moresampler it shows up as question marks

im making another cvvc japanese voicebank, but this time a tripitch one, and whenever i put a folder of japanese samples into moresampler, it shows up as question marks and it doesnt work. how can i fix this?

First, make sure to go into settings, and change the locale into Japan, and not the system language if you haven't already.

And even if you changed your locale to Japanese, it might still be an issue if you don't have your settings allow whatever program(s) you use aside from UTAU, such as SetParam or vLabeler if you added any aliases using those programs or opened the OTO file in there, or whatever text editor/program you have that loads .ini files. I realized that my Japanese OTO files were corrupting because my text editor's encoding was set to UTF-8 and not SHIFT-JIS (Japanese encoding), and vLabeler had the UTF-8 encoding, meaning that my OTO files would corrupt when I edited them in there.

I didn't know that! I thought they were different encodings.
