Hello all!! As most of you are aware, my utau, Mayone Yui, has been in production for a good 2 years and I'm pretty close to release, but I wanted some feedback from you all!! So I'm going to post a few demo songs, some in beta, some in full release and wanted your honest critiques! Those who want to beta test her, please PM me! She is a 4 multi-pitch VCV bank, with only hiragana support (if anyone wants to add romaji to her alias, please feel free, I haven't had the time to do it sadly  )

Much appreciated everyone!!

I think she has a really pretty voice. She kinda sounds like she has an accent though (like with the vowels, nothing in need of serious fixing though) :0 I like her

Oh really? Like in what way? Can you tell me in what song maybe? Rolling Girl in particular was modulated. But she's not perfect either. Some vowels like the "i" in "shi" are a bit strong. Not all my recordings were ideal, lol.

I think the Rolling Girl one sounds fine, I guess I'd say it's sort of prominent in the first one. I guess it's sort of underlying but I hear it in her "e" sounds and sometimes her "a" sounds?

I agree with what @RaccoonButler ; really pretty voice, high-quality sounding, and has an obvious accent that makes it distinct but not in a way that it hinders the quality although this may shy away some UTAU users that may prefer a more native-like Japanese voicebank. Her "a" accent is more obvious to me though.

Her tone is more of a "straight" or "core" type so her voice is more suited for songs like Memories in the Mirror more than Anti Beat but the way her voice was mixed/tuned in Rolling Girl fit which demonstrates tonal flexibility
Also, her voice is noticeably more breathy in Hana no Natsu. Is it because of flags or maybe a lower pitch-only used? :o (that also adds to tonal flexibility ^w^)

Overall, I'd say the most noticeable flaw of the VB is the accent but everything else is well done

What do you mean by accent though? Like is the pronounciation weird?

Yeah, in Hana no Natsu I used a breath flag, as I haven't completed her whisper bank yet.

It took me FOREVER to record all 4 pitches for her, and I'll admit some of them were rushed. As a long time studier of Japanese, it bothers me that she has an accent at all, she's not supposed to have one. However I purposely put a strong stress on her syllables, so that she was distinct from Teto and Ritsu.

Granted, she's not perfect, as she's my first VB ever. So all of this is excellent feedback for me to pay attention when releasing new versions of her and/or improvements!!

Thank you so much!!

Yes, I meant pronunciation. The some of her "a" have a hint of the English u (in "but" for example).

You're welcome ^_^

Hmmmm......perhaps that just makes her different? Lol.

Now I'm gonna have to go through all my "a" samples lmao.
