You have to set your system locale to japanese in order for everything to work correctly. Change your locale, then re-install Utau. If you have any further problems after trying this, please feel free to share them.

No, Utau is for windows and Utau synth is for Mac. I don’t think you can install Utau when using Linux, but there might be a work around.

I haven’t used Maiko personally, but I remember hearing a little bit about using them. Most people say that you should use the resampler Moresampler, then use the u flag so that it plays a raw sample. It would probably also help to set the breath to 0.
