The AI voicebanks are fine but whenever I use V4, the voicebanks sound like their lungs are clogged or filled with water ;-;

The one exception I have found to this is Dex and Cyber Songman, who typically sounds rather clear and understandable. I think most of it is the unusual mix of English and American phonetics used for the engine.
Frankly I'm not all too fond of Vocaloid at all, but it's English makes it feel even worse.

Oh yeah. Dex, Cyber Diva & Songman, Ruby, VY2, and Fukase are fine. VY2 is my favourite VOCALOID voicebank that isn't AI.

Oliver and Miku got done dirty big time by the engine noise. I’m excited for Oliver’s AI vb so we get to hear him in all his British non-nasally glory.

VY2 doesn't have English though?
I'm not a big fan of Diva, Ruby, or even Fukase's English all that much personally, although that might simply have to do with my anti Vocaloid bias in general. I've tried out many of the AI voicebanks too, and they mostly sound worse imo.

His Maghni vb already has demos for it.

I can't wait for Maghni AI to get released. I hope that they earn a lot of money from their donations so they can finish the project and publish the app / Vocal-synthesizer.

The engine can't handle consonant clusters well, plus some of the voicebanks' voice providers don't speak the language. It got better since V6's concat engine update, but most of the issues are from the voicebank config—blame the company :p

Sonika even has a Skype calling noise in her 'u' sample in V2 and V3, and yet Zero-G and Yamaha didn't notice.

what about the cryptons??? I don't mean to be rude about that, but imo Miku V4 EN is clear

I feel like some English Vocaloids are quite clear, especially Miku and Gumi, however it depends on both the synthesis engine, and how people use the voicebank most importantly. Compare Rishie-P's tuning with a plug-n-play with any Vocaloid, and there's a stark difference in clarity and expression.
