Pronunciation Guide:

Vowels:
There are only 5 vowels, which are a, i, u, e, o. Each vowel is pronounced exactly the same as Japanese.

Consonants:
There are only 17 consonants.

c is pronounced like the “th” in “that.
b has a preceding nasal consonant, so it’s pronounced like “mb”
d
also has a preceding nasal consonant, so it’s pronounced like “nd”
g
is pronounced like the “ng” in hang”, not like as infinger
j
is pronounced like “ch”, but without the puff of breath that usually follows
k, p, and t, are pronounced just like in English, but without the puff of breath that usually follows
r is pronounced like the rolled r in Spanish
q is pronounced like the “ng” in finger, not like as in hang”
v
is pronounced like in English, but instead of the upper teeth against the lower lip, it’s the lower teeth against the upper lip
l
is pronounced just like in English
n is pronounced just like in English
m is pronounced just like in English
s is pronounced just like in English
w is pronounced just like in English
y is pronounced just like in English
