Akita Neru

Err, should I try to make my own voicebank for Akita Neru? She doesn't have her own voicebank and I've tried searching for voicebank downloads, I also have never made a voicebank before and am planning on making some of my own OCs voicebanks. I'm not going to have a download for it though. I also have a MacOS, and I can't download Oremo because it needs to be updated, so I'm going to use my friend's PC.

IIRC Akita Neru is a pitchloid that’s pretty much just a high pitched Miku. People have tried to make her VBs before but they’re usually frowned upon because it’s someone else’s character.

Akita Neru just traditionally uses Hatsune Miku's bank for a voice. I don't think people would love an Akita Neru bank because you don't own Akita

I'd recommend working on your OC's voicebanks first.

The creator of Akita Neru allows and supports the creation of fanmade banks for UTAU, as long as they are legal, you can create your own Neru using your own recordings and modifying them by editing, or use the Akita Neru NEO 2.0, which was made by modifying the audios of a third-party voice provider and modified in FL Studio to make it sound more like Neru.

Generally, I'd just recommend to you and any other person reading this thread to stay away from creating voicebanks for already made characters. It could result in some trouble with the character's creator for one, but it can also be seen as many as cheap or trying to just follow off of that character's popularity. Especially with a fanloid like Neru, who already has an extremely popular method of using her voice. It would likely just stir up unneeded drama and result in disappointment. I would like to second Kierteiyu, not only because it'd be less of a headache or timebomb to make one of your own, but likely more fun anyways. Why try and make something to imitate something else, where you don't even have complete control over your creation due to some of it belonging to someone else entirely, when you could simply try to make something entirely original and uniquely your own?

+ You also could never create merch or paid VBs without a ton of trouble since I'm fairly sure Neru is owned by Piapro.
