Almost-Maybe Accidental Vocaloid Resemblances?

Sooo I'm making TWO new utaus(boy and girl) in place of the ones that I have started but never really willed myself to finish. But I have a slight feeling I might get bashed/judged because they would bear a resemblance to Kagamine Rin and Len(with the fact that they are "twins"). I know Len and Rin really aren't twins if you don't want them to be...but the idea of having utauloids that are designed around the 14-16 age being twins and having perky-upbeat voices really hints at more than just a resemblance to the popular duo... And I don't like that.

In all honesty, the worse case scenario is that i'd have to completely abandon this project due to all the negative feedback...I really just want to avoid this the best I can. So, in your specific terms, what really distinguishes a "copy" over a "resemblance?" What do you think of Vocaloid resemblances and what makes an Utau appear to be (visibly) like a Vocaloid? And in your opinion, what do you think of my whole...twin thing? Is it really worth it?

I first just REALLY wanted to record a boy utau...like...badly so I made up a..sort of..."story" upon which his concept art was to be based on. It kinda was like...the "boy who was raised among stars" kinda thing...but yeah. I dunno it looked so much cooler in my head XD. But yeah. He was going to be based off the stars and the galaxies and what not. But then I found it kid of lonely being...there....alone. So I made him a sister...partner..thing. Just basically a partner(but I kinda intended for them to be related in some way). So they would be stars in the sky that would sing together and be cute and asdfgh this is so corny. But yeah, They would be "stars" and have clothing based on the sky and whatnot.... but here's the catch: no matter what append, what retake / act / upgrade--whatever you call it, they MUST sound nicely together...because they are partners. It's going to be hard for me but I have a feeling I can bend over to pull it off OTL...so yeah.

there's a difference between resemblences and overall idea steal

honestly, i'm fine with twin utaus as long as they aren't just +/- 20 generbends or voice pitches in audacity
if they aren't len and rin recolors (and i know you wouldn't do that bby) and each have their own voice, i will definitely be eager to hear them

There are UTAUs that are like two clothing pieces away from being Len and Rin recolors, and they were generally well liked.

OAO So it kind of..really doesn't matter if they(Rin+Len and my utaus) looked similar? I mean..I'm not implying that they do in any way...but if I were to just blow off the design totally and just recolor, it wouldn't matter? But it's not like I knew a lot of "twin" utaus...

it's okay if they are a look a like obviously (looking at teto vs miku, nami vs rin, some people with aiko vs rin, etcetcetc on forever because "miku formula"

Lol I know-- I wont XD. I kinda had a design in mind anyways.

But say I had like...things in the same places (ex: Rin's bow or...bow..tie? In the same spot but not the same sort of...shape). That wouldn't count as idea copy/pasting...right?

hair bows, hair pins, all that stuff are common fashion

unless you take IA's shawl, Aoki's headband, or just flat out recolor an entire outfit, you're good

I think I'm the only person who realises that some anons compare Utakawa Rina with Yuzuki Yukari and Utakawa Shun with Kamui Gakupo but idk how and why. And these UTAUs are not twins.

As for my UTAU, Kaiserine Sympherianne had a Vocaloid-esque feature in her old design but it later absent in her current design. Her current design is a combination of a plain, long cape and her librarian-esque outfit. In her current design, everything is revamped, including her full colour scheme and character profile.

Even she has been compared with some Western cartoon characters rather than anime character and I just like...wtf XD
