Flags for Mawarine Shuu

I'm trying to use Mawarine Shuu in utau-synth, I know resamplers and flags are a bit different there so I was wondering what flags would be useful for Shuu to make him sound a bit more realistic. I'm new to utau, so I don't know how to oto stuff or things like that. I'm honestly a bit worried that I might not be able to make things sound as good as others since I'm using synth instead of windows. Any help would be appreciated.

Realism comes more from the tuning and pitch editing than anything. Most flags are just filters (mostly EQs) which may change the tone of the voice slightly, but these kinds of edits generally are secondary to pitch editing when dealing with making the singing overall less flat/more emotional/more realistic/more interesting/ever how you want to phrase it.

What's the difference between tuning and pitch editing if I may ask? I thought pitch editing was tuning.

Pitch editing is part of tuning, yes. I just wanted to stress the pitch editing specifically.

I've been working on my pitch editing. I think it's getting a lot better, but it feels like it's flat a lot of the time if that makes sense? I know you're supposed to only pitch to other notes used in the song but it's still a bit tricky to figure out how to pitch everything.
