Help with my UTAU?

Hiya! I'm super super new to these threads (& I really hope I'm posting this in the right place) but I have a somewhat(?) Odd request/question.

So I just made my first UTAU, but I have very little experience using vocaloids, and no experience using other UTAUs. I tried using a UST to test them out, but they don't sound super great. I don't know how to tune very well just yet- but I am on somewhat of a time crunch to make this UTAU and make them useable. I am planning on going on HRT by the end of the year, and my UTAU is a way of recording my voice before it deepens. So before I start HRT- I'd like to make sure my UTAU is okay. (I also have plans to make a second UTAU post-HRT)
I was wondering if anyone who knows how to tune a voice synth would be willing to tune my UTAU to a quick song to make sure they're useable? Once I go on HRT they will likely never be updated again, so I'd like to get them fully prepared within the year. I'd be able to send you the VB privately, and I want to make sure to fix anything that needs to be fixed before I go on HRT.

If anyone needs any clarifications or answered questions I'd be happy to answer them below as well! Thank you so much<3

I'm sorry I don't even tune most of my utau, (._. )

but can I hear what you've made so far? Is it that bad? (´・ω・`)?

I just got a chance to upload the test I made for them! I used Raspberry Monster just because it was the first UST I came across. I definitely think I might need to stick to more lower-toned songs, and I think my UTAU will probably be good to use, but the choppiness/low quality of this first test makes me a little nervous.

A lot of this sounds like oto-related issues to be honest? If you record proper samples now, then you should be able to fix the oto (configuration) in the future, so there's honestly not much time pressure IMO.
I'm gonna assume you've recorded CV, there's not really any way to mess that up honestly. If you want some assistance with oto'ing I could take a quick look at it.
For longterm usage, you might want to consider recording CVVC strings in oremo, it takes less than 10min per pitch and sounds a lot smoother than CV.

Another thing with UTAU is that you should set "mod" to 0 after adding or editing notes. That might help with the sound you're hearing in the UST

I've tried to fix my OTO before, but for some reason it keeps crashing my UTAU program (I'll probably be looking into this soon as well) I also can't find many good guides on what to do with OTOing or what each part means, so I've been a little stuck in that regard. I did record CV too, so hopefully that works out well. I might try re-recording one more time after I figure out OTO and how to stop my program from crashing too.

Here [1, 2] are some otoing guides I'd recommend. You can PM me if you want some assistance as well:smile: I'm not super experienced but I should be able to help.
You can also commission a good CV oto for very, very cheap (around ~$2 USD) if you don't want to try to wrap your head around otoing; it can be hard to grasp the basic logic so it's not a bad option.

I'm definitely bookmarking these to read, thank you so much! If it ends up being something a little too complicated for me I'll probably go the route of commissioning someone. I might play with OTOing at some point, but from looking around it just miiight be a bit too much for me at the moment. Thank you!!<3
