How do i OTO in setparam?

So all of the tutorials i can find online are for the auto parameter estemation thingy and that did NOT work well AT ALL on my vb so i decided to manually tune it (after i used the auto parameter function to generate the different notes like -わ aた aし iわ but there are a few differences from the oto editor thingy in the base UTAU app and setparam.

Also i have like no experience otoing at all, especially VCV voicebanks because this is my first one and i know i should've started with a cv but i just hate how choppy they are.

I mainly just wanna know which lines do what and where i put them.

honestly? I wouldn't. grab moresampler and use that. (you just drag and drop the folder onto the .exe file, and answer the questions it asks in the command shell appropriately.)

if you insist on manually doing an oto, I would do it in utau itself. mind you, this takes forever. there are a lot of .oto tutorials already out there.

this is a beginning sample, but the principal is the same. pink should cover the last third of the previous note to the first third of the current (where the vowel becomes stable), overlap (green) is placed into the stable end of the previous vowel, preutterance (red) should be placed at the top of the consonant, the white section is what loops/stretches depending on resampler (you want stable vowel), and the blue is the cutoff and it silences the ugly end of the note. I think that's everything. but again, just use moresampler and then iroiro2 (plug in) to generate a ust for testing to find any samples that need adjustment. I've always had very good results with moresampler, but it's not perfect.

yep! it's good for giving you a jumping off point. I would also just watch some youtube tutorials for a more visual and audible reference as to what you need to do. moresampler oto's will at least give you an idea of what the bank will sound like.

they are .wav files, correct? not .mp3 or something else? I mean, if you recorded with oremo they should be, but. you're almost using an older version of moresampler. I think the most up to date is 0.8.4? also, make sure your files are actually *in* hiragana. it could be that it's looking for files named with hiragana, but they're actually romanji, etc. I would need to see your actual voice recordings to really tell. (also, I'm not an expert with this either, so I might not be able to solve your issue)

oh, wait, you only dragged and dropped the FILE? no, you drag and drop the entire folder. so, you're not dragging the sound file "ああいあうえあ.wav", you're dropping the entire folder that contains the recordings for your pitch.

I'm going to assume all other prerequisites for UTAU and its related programs are done, right? locale, etc? the only thing I can think of is trying the more up to date version of moresampler, or using vlabeler to generate a base oto instead. moresampler can be finicky, but it's never given me this issue.

Maybe it's because the voice files are in a separate folder? It goes folder one (on the desktop) and then a subfolder inside with the voice recordings. I'll try taking the recordings out of the subfolder and have it in the one folder

possibly. UTAU can read one subfolder deep (i.e, "vb name">"vb pitches">"vb wav files") but I'm not sure about moresampler. try taking moresampler's exe, put it on your desktop, then take the folder containing the files and put it on your desktop. drag and drop from there. if it still doesn't work, and your file names are in hiragana with .wav names, I'm not sure what the issue would be that it can't read them.

I got it to work, I just needed to take the recordings and take it out of the subfolder and put it into the one singular folder and it FINALLY made an oto.ini
