How to english lyrics??? (Mac)

I installed UTAU-Synth because I wanted to make songs using UtaUtaUtau's DECtalk voicebank. But when I installed the voicebank and applied it, I can't seem to make lyrics at all. It won't let me change the vocal sound. How do I do this?

Unless the bank is specifically set up to read english characters, it'll only read Japanese characters, so you'll have to use them instead. If you want to transfer english sounds into Japanese characters, I'd suggest this site I'd use! Once you find the character you want to use, you need to right click the note, click "view properties", and paste the character into the "lyric" box.

The bank is described as an english VCCV, so it probably should work with english. My problem is that I can't seem to find a way to change the vocal sound in the note settings.

I think I'm clueless then. Do you think you could provide a screenshot? A visual might help me understand your problem better

Not sure what I would be taking a screenshot of. To be more specific, I can only figure out how to change every note to a vowel sound (using the "lyric" button) instead of different notes to words. If I try to type normal lyrics into the lyric box it just ends up giving one note a weird noise.

VCCV doesn't work with standard English text like "test" instead, it will be "-t@ | st-" (-t@ and st- is separate notes) and this website might help you.

Thanks for that! so now how do I actually apply them to each note at a time?
