So, if you couldn't tell, I am a massive fan of 'furloids', or furry utau. However, in my use of them, I've learnt that many of them simply aren't as high quality as I'd like or have a very generic tone.
Of course, utau is a free program and most people make voicebanks for themselves, but I want to help show the world that utau can be taken seriously as well. And so, I want to bring out more expressive and varied tones for furloids with high quality and rigorous testing. And to do that, I introduce Kemonality.
The name is pulled from the Japanese word for the furry fandom, kemono, and the words quality and commonality. Our group is, as previously mentioned, made with the goal of introducing high quality and unique voicebanks with anthropomorphic avatars and the plan to one day make paid/commercial utau voicebanks.
Now, anyone can apply to the project, but I will not accept everyone. To apply, all you need is a snippet of your voice. However, I have a few rules:
1. The voice must have at least decent quality.
2. The voice must not be too similar to any other voicebanks you have voiced. Again, this is meant to introduce new and unique voices.
If I come to like your voice, I will create a character for it and commission art for it once the voicebank is finished. You can submit a rough idea for the character, but any specifics will be left up to me. This is not a group dedicated to getting free art and exposure for your ocs.
Character creation will be held to similar standards as most Vocaloids, as in mostly a blank slate to be used for songs. All characters and voicebanks created will belong to the group, but we will not do anything with the voicebank without permission from you.
The voicebank created will be tested by me and possibly others for any and all flaws before being accepted.
If you are interested, please reply or message me.
Oh, and should have mentioned that our first voicebank is asked to be a multipitch cv+vv rentan voicebank with a general tone to keep things simple for all parties.
