i don't know what happened when i uploaded this to SoundCloud but it sounds more crunchy??? (idk if that's a good description) compared to how it sounded while i was listening to it play in OpenUtau.
Anyways, this cover was pretty fun to work on! i tried some technique's to make the voice squeak/crack a little bit here and there because i thought it'd fit the song nicely. also i finally used Namine Ritsu after letting their voicebank collect dust for months since i installed it lol.

You can listen to the finished cover here: SoundCloud

Original by: PinocchioP
UST: Picorimori
Tuning: Mari_Noodlez (me)
Instrumental: i had to grab the Project SEKAI version and put it through a vocals and instrumental separator
Voicebanks:
(main vocals): Kasane Teto, Maria Fuwa AUSPICE+, Nurse Robot_Type T caramel act 2, Anna Nyui, Namine Ritsu kire
(backing vocals): Yokune Ruko♀️, Kasane Teto, Milk

Hope you guys like it!! :D

When uploading to various sites audio will often get cronch-ified (lol) for one reason or another. I can't remember the details, but it's something you have to learn to master around so even lower quality variants of your music/covers will sound at least somewhat close to the intended mix.

But, yeah, the vocals defs hit the ceiling and got blown out. I don't know anything about how OU renders, though in the future mayhaps look into a DAW (like Audacity) for mixing and final rendering vs doing it in OU itself, if you haven't already. I'd also suggest trying out a VST called MQ57. It's great for mastering and general use.

Blown-out vocals aside, the tuning sounds pretty good imo. Tuning that many vocal tracks is an absolute pain, but you did it lol. Good work, good work!

Thank you so much!! i do use audio mixing programs but i think the audio crunch problem has something to do with SoundCloud itself since the WAV file before and after mixing sounds normal, it just seems like something happened while it was uploading to SoundCloud and gave it a little crunch. definitely going to try and get it fixed if i can!

I've had that happen before, where the wav/mp3 sound fine and then BAM soundcloud or youtube devour it and hack up a peak-y mess instead lmao. If it helps any, just judging by ear the ceiling is mmmmost likely being hit at around 2.5k hz, going as low as 1.3k in certain spots, so you can try targeting that range. Though also take that with a pinch of salt, since my ears aren't what they used to be lol
