@doopah I'm not sure what's going on there. It may just be the fact that V1 is pretty outdated, it may be throwing a fit if you are on Windows 7 or newer.
Other than that, I've never really used V1, so I'm afraid I can't troubleshoot. :/
I know EmpathP has MIRIAM, so maybe contact her somehow, she's very nice~

Yea, once the code runs out, you have to contact the company you bought the vocaloid from and ask for either a new code or more activations.
How exactly would one do that? I know at least INTERNET's DB programmer is on twitter and can speak English, he has helped me before~

Wait, your VOCALOID code actually expires???
That is such a ripoff!! These things are not cheap you know. So if I have to move computers for five times for some reason, I will loose all my purchases?!?!
Stupid Yamaha
It's not entirely unreasonable. Given a computer's supposed to last you around four years, that's twenty years. I can see how it'd be frustrating if someone had super bad luck with computers and they break a lot. I don't know if they could/would do anything about it in that case.
I suppose, but seeing as how VOCALOID hasn't been around for 20 years yet, people who want to to this as a long term career may have an issue eventually. I suppose Yamaha will have to cross that bridge when they come to it.
Or not. Yamaha can be very unpredictable to be honest with you.
