Okay, um, so, I know I'm totally new to this site, but I am so stuck on a problem that I seriously have no clue what to do and would really, super duper appreciate some help and advice!
I've been using UTAU for a couple years now, so I know about the usual "bad filename or number" problems and I have fixed them. My locale is (and always was) set to Japanese, and I fixed the Defoko problem. Like I said, I fixed the common versions of this error. For the most part, UTAU works like a dream.
Now, the problem arises when I'm editting the otos for my UTAU, Mini-Makku. She works just fine, but recently, an error has been occuring where it completely deletes her otos. What happens, is, when I'm editting her oto like usual, all of a sudden the "bad filename or number" error pops up. When I close it, I can no longer do ANYTHING in the program without getting the error "file is already open". It's impossible to have the file "already open," though, because I only have one instance of UTAU running. I usually close the program, but when I do this, it wipes all the information in Mini-Makku's oto, effectively rendering her a bit useless.
So, some more info that might help is that I'm using version 2.76 with the English patch, and my OS is Windows 7 64bit. My locale IS set to Japanese, and UTAU runs without problems. I've tried using several different voicebanks, and the error doesn't occur with other voicebanks. Mini-Makku herself is a multi-tone VCV, directly based off of KIRE Ritsu, and her otos all have the capability of being used in romaji and kana (meaning she has both romaji versions and kana versions of the phonemes in her otos.) I know making otos romaji AND kana compatible makes an obscene amount of sounds, but I've never had a problem with it besides the occasional program lag, due to the sheer amount of sounds in the otos. For UTAU itself, I'm using the default wavtool.exe and my resampler is TIPS, and the UST I'm using is "Hurting for a Very Hurtful Pain."
I've tiptoed around the problem by constantly backing up Mini-Makku's oto to prevent loss in her configuration, but it's hard to know when it's going to do the error, since it's completely random. I've also tried older versions of UTAU, but it still has the same problem.
If anyone has any suggestions at ALL, or have some questions, please post here and ask me! It's such an annoying error, and, even if I can't fix it, knowing WHY it happens would be a big help. Thanks so much!
