SetParam won't launch, gives me "extra characters after close-brace" error

Trying to make a UTAU voicebank for the first time, recorded samples using Akorin
I heard that it was suggested to use SetParam, but whenever I launch it I get this error

Does anyone know how to fix this? Or maybe I just have a bad copy or somethin

You'll need to set your system's non-unicode language to Japanese. Be sure to delete setParam, change your computer's settings, then redownload setParam. You can follow the guide here for changing the settings.
