CV VC voicebanks are my favorite. They are easy to record, and it doesn't take long to record and oto everything at all. But converting .ust's into cv vc... can be a nightmare for me. It takes to long! I can't even have music on in the background to get me going because it distracts me from making sure EVERYTHING sounds right when I'm editing an ust. I'm a slow worker... so converting things to cv vc takes a day for me. I just... I WISH IT WAS EASIER. If only somebody made a plug-in to help, but I doubt it's even possible to do that.

It's not impossible to make a plugin for CVVC (although it might be quite difficult), but unfortunately CVVC just isn't popular enough for someone to go out of their way to make one. So unfortunately, you're kinda stuck with converting USTs yourself D:

Tough stuff.

That was sarcasm. Going through something note-by-note is the best way to be sure that the pronunciation's at it's best, or near it's best. Utilities are best used for repetitive, factory-assembly line stuff, which editing a .UST should not be. Along the way you'll have the opportunity to catch errors like bad envelopes, a missing phenome, etc. that will be harder to catch if you use a machine to convert it.

When I know that I'm going to be shoving a .ust through the resampler a few times for a while I'll usually put music on at a low volume to keep myself from dying of boredom.

If doing the whole thing in a sitting is grating on you, then chip away at it slowly - don't burn yourself out, don't let yourself get sick of it. The more time you spend on it, the better it will sound. And days in-between help - I find that when I'm working on one thing for a while over a day I tend to obsess over the wrong things while overlooking other, more noticeable, issues. If you spend a whole day obsessing over something then I don't think it's too much of a stretch to guess that you're the same way. It ain't a good way to be.

Good luck with the thing you're working on >__>

Gaah, I'm sorry. I'm just a lazy worker. I'm the kind of person who will never finish something If I don't get it done right away.

I feel the same way at times, but you don't have to feel bad about not finishing something because you're losing interest in it...if you're getting tired, shelve it. If you never go back to it, then whaaaatever you got other awesome things to do )*O*)9

...if you aren't finishing anything you can force yourself to finish a project just as a kick in the face to yourself, because kicks in the face encourage....awesome or something? In moderation of course.

That's my suggestion, just based on my own experience XD;;

I don't think making a CV VC conversion plugin would be that difficult.
Essentially, what it'd have to do is split the note in two, and repeat the vowel at the end of the note it split and add a consonant at the end.
If you want it to be more precise, you'll have to make it look at your oto.ini file and see how long the consonant area is, and make the VC note equally long.
To my knowledge however no such plugin exists yet.

I don't think the issue is converting a bank, although I don't see why that would be a problem unless one wanted options in their CV syllables :\ (some days I wish I had more options in my CV sylables ).___.)) (although I wouldn't want a utlility that outputs spliced-together phonemes, they'd probably sound pretty obviously shoved together. If I was working with a separate constant and vowel we'd be better off splicing together the constant and vowel in-editor on a case-by case basis

....and, well, in that case we might as well be using the original bank anyways! Still, we might not be on the same page here)

In my experience CV VCs get weird vowels (like @), which I imagine the problem would be while converting a .UST (...right? your problem was switching over to the weird vowels, right, oh dear god look at all these things I'm assuming)

Anyways, what language are you working in, Error? What reclist did you use? And are you having trouble with a bank, or adjusting a previously-completed UST? What language phonemes/recording process did the original singer use? I apologize, I should have been asking this in the first place.
