(VCV) How to make the romaji character before the main note be longer/shorter ?

I'm doing already existing songs to learn how to use UTAU and in order to make VCV Teto say "I'm thinking Teto" I wrote "- あ n すぃ n き n て e と" and it worked well but when I switch to a different voicebank the character is barely pronouncing the n's if at all so it sounds messed up
How can I change the length of the n ? Or is that an issue embedded in the voicebank so for some of them I have to insert a small "ん" note instead of using the VCV feature ?

Two questions:
Are you using OpenUtau or Classic Utau?

If using classic: Did you reset the envelopes to fit the new bank? (Select all, acpt -> p2p3 etc.)

I did the reset envelope thing both with the acpt p2p3 and overlap/preutterance thing but it didn't work, and I'm using base UTAU

try selecting all of the notes, and clearing the "STP" blank in the note properties.

This has worked for me in the past, but it might also just be an issue with the oto of the bank you're using. :/

Thanks, I just tried that but uh... nope, didn't work. It just replaces "n" with pure silence no matter what I do. I think it's maybe been recorded like that. I don't know how to check the actual recording though.

CTRL + G will open up the voice bank's settings, so that should help on that front.

What bank are you using?

The prefixes on VCV voicebanks are only meant for blending with the previous note. If you need to hear a defined "n" sound you should cut the note and put the ん lyric on it, then convert to VCV.

Thank you a lot, I thought it was like a way to insert syllable in a single note I'm dumb lol
